11/4/24 I scheduled a visit for a second opinion of my HVAC failure. The tech arrived and looked at the outside of the Lennox compressor unit and then the condenser unit in the attic, as I had prepared easy access. We did not discuss fees until he finished. He did no diagnostic testing and was finished in 20 minutes. He presented a bill for $208 ($119 service call and $89 diagnostic testing)He offered his opinion that a new system was the obvious choice, and he had nothing to offer in the way of repair. I resisted the $89 diagnostic fee, as he did no diagnostic testing. He refused because Company policy does not authorize him to negotiate prices. He suggested I join Vertex Comfort Shield for 1 year @ $90 plus the $89 diagnostic fee ($179), but I declined. I can't deal with a company that charges fees for services not performed--especially without prior discussion This discussion took another 20 minutes and I had to retrieve his drill/driver from the attic, which took longer! He did not leave any paperwork or record of his visit. I believe I should not be liable for the diagnostic charge, and I learned since that most ************* do not charge for second opinions, especially without diagnostic testing. I don't think this policy is fair, and I am con testing the entire fee, although they continue to bill me by snail mail. No one from the company has contacted me in response to my emails.

We called this company on Sunday night because we found water surrounding our AC unit. We called several companies, and no one had 24 hours of service, but this company. We talked with a Dave (David), and he came out. Dave was shown the AC unit downstairs and looked around the unit, he pointed to the piping system with 2 red covers and said that looked good. He took some readings from the unit and stated that he could put some refrigerant in to see if that helps. He then proceeded to quote us the cost of refrigerant since he stated we were really low on it. When he put more of that into the unit, it froze the coils in our unit so much i could hear the freezing when i was in the basement by the unit. He came downstairs from the outside unit and unscrewed the panel where the coils were, and they were SO frozen!! We stopped proceeding with that, and he stated he can't do much since it's really frozen. We were told we would get a call, and he said we could call too to have someone come out and take a further look. I called my heating and cooling company, that put our unit in when we built this home about 4 years ago. RSC Heating and cooling came out the same day and explained the system and what it may be. The first thing he checked was the filter and then opened up the 2 red tops on the piping system and noticed there was a visible clog. Why didn't David open this up and check?? As soon as he cleared the clog, you could hear the water run through and the water going down in the pan that was full right below the coils. He then checked the blower, and that was great. We went upstairs and turned on the AC, and it came out with a good force. He also checked the levels in the unit outside and said our refrigerant and other levels were great!! David was going to put in over $300 dollars worth of refrigerant or more because he said our levels were that low that it was a leak issue and we had to get someone out to check that. The company has not contacted me at all.
