This was not a police tow and unfortunately AAA WAS 1 minute behind your company to pick the car up and not to have to go through the traumatic experience we had to go through. $45 dollar storage fee for a car we followed down to your lot ( really) and $70 to tow the car from inside your lot to the outside of your lot is ridiculous. So dont tell me that your set rate are set by the city. Legalized theft is what it was . You need to be investigated On Tue, Feb 25, 2025 at 4:57PMReview fromEleta R

On Thanksgiving, my car was towed from City Vista apartment community (Preferred Apartment) for parking in a poorly numbered parking space which was rented by one of their tenants. I do not live in one of their apartments but was providing direct care for a tenant who does receive services from our agency. The only information I could find as to where my car was towed was by a piece of paper left under the back windshield wiper of the car parked in the space from which my car was towed. Fortunately, I was able to secure a ride to this towing facility. When I went to pick up my car, I WAS CHARGED $276.50 FOR a 3.6 MILE TOW!!!! This is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable. I contacted both the towing manager from McGann & Chester and City Vista management office requesting a partial refund. Neither company is assuming responsibility for the amount charged. The towing company is stating this is a contractual rate with the apartment community of which City Vista is denying. Someone is making a nice profit from this ridiculous process!! I would never utilize McGann & Chester for ANY towing needs nor would I EVER rent an apartment from **********!!!Review fromJillian E

I do not know the exact details of which vehicle, street or day you are speaking of but I can speak in general. We are a private company under contract by the Department of Public Safety. When the police call for a vehicle or vehicles to be towed then we respond as directed and by contract. An officer is on scene and stays until we leave with the vehicle(s). The officer also issues a ticket which you have the ability to read the back and follow proper instructions on how dispute your concerns. While this complaint does not really pertain to us, you can follow up with the City to voice your concerns or address it through the courts as per the citation instructions.Review fromAngela K.

This was the most unprofessional place I seriously had ever dealt with. Our car was towed there after an accident. The young black girl that worked in the office was extremely unprofessional and acted disgusted and annoyed while waiting on us. Then an older white man in the cart said that only one of us can go see the car. I responded I have things that I need to get, can I go after he comes back? He looked at my husband and said very rudely, I cant understand what she doesnt get? This is the second one today. I turned around and said, I dont need to take this rude behavior from you or your office girl. We have been through enough and all you all have been was rude to us for no reason. I walked into the office I was speaking to the other woman working there and said, I dont need to take this rude behavior.. and before I said anything else, the young black girl screamed I am on the phone so you wait your turn!!! Yes screamed this! I said I wasnt talking to you I was talking to the other woman sitting there. She screamed you will wait your turn and speak to me! She said shed call security and even the cops if I dont wait my turn. Seriously, call security or the cops if I dont wait my turn? I walked out. I think these people hate their jobs so much that they take it out on the customers. Im in shock! My husband said that he told the guy you had no right speaking to my wife in that manner, we went through a lot of stress with this accident. He said Well Im sorry but between this place and the work, it gets to me. Thats why Im reporting this. One should not have to take this abuse. Literally the screaming from the black girl and the smart remarks from the older white man, is uncalled for. It was the unprofessionalism, screaming, and sarcasm from both the young black girl working in the office and the older white man in the cart that was so inappropriate. ! Please be aware of this so called towing business.McGann & Chester LLC

My mother-in-law had to go to this place after her accident back in January to collect her belongings and take photos of the car for the insurance, and because she was suffering from a concussion and other accident-related aches and pains she needed someone to go with her. The receptionist and one of the golf cart drivers seemed nice, but the old man was rude and pushy during the entire experience, insulting my mother-in-law in our faces commenting with phrases like how "women are nothing but trouble"I don't know how the law is enforced in Pittsburgh, but these people only allow clients 10mins to clear out their vehicles, and only 1 person was allowed at a time, NO EXCEPTIONS... Now my mother-in-law was an Uber driver when she had her accident, and she loaded up that car like she LIVED in it. Having everything flown everywhere and all airbags deployed, it was going to take at least 15-20mins for ONE PERSON to strip that car clean of all belongings.Of course despite there being other drivers, I had to be escorted by the old man who did nothing but complain despite me interacting with him in a respectful tone that he clearly didn't deserve. He complained more about women the whole ride over to the car, complained that I was taking too long despite my best effort to gather everything in time, and continued to flap his gums about I-don't-know-what-anymore the whole ride back. He was so disruptive and enraging that he made me forget to collect a few things and to take the photos of the vehicle. They couldn't let me in without a ticket, and because I already entered the premises I wasn't allowed reentry that same day. On top of that, they made a claim that because I was still beyond the gates that I HAD entered twice, so they denied access to my mother-in-law! She was forced to come back the next day all the while still under the influence of her condition. They also have this slip of approval by the BBB that should probably be verified for authentication.McGann & Chester LLC

Thank you for sharing your experience with us, and ** truly sorry to hear about the difficulties your mother-in-law and your family faced during your visit to our facility. We understand how stressful this situation must have been, especially given the circumstances of your mother-in-laws recent accident and health condition. I want to sincerely apologize for the way you were treated during the process. The comments and behavior youve described are completely unacceptable and do not reflect the standards of respect and professionalism we expect from our staff. We will be addressing this issue internally to ensure that future customers are treated with the care and understanding they deserve, particularly during such difficult times. Regarding the policy you mentioned about time limits and the number of people allowed to access the vehicle, we have these procedures in place to ensure the security and efficiency of the premises. However, its clear that this situation could have been handled with more flexibility and compassion, especially given your mother-in-laws condition. We apologize for any inconvenience this caused and for any miscommunication regarding reentry policies. We genuinely appreciate your feedback and will use it as an opportunity to improve our service moving forward.
