  To start with I was encouraged to apply for *****s that way it would cover the cost of training for my service dog in training. My dog had four lessons. 3 being group lessons and 1 being private although the ***** paid for all private lessons. The trainer here uses positive only methods which were not working for my dog. These methods contributed to several behavioral issues like demand barking, scavenging for stuff off the ground, and people and dog reactivity. After four lessons my dogs behavior was worse than when we started she couldnt walk on a leash, heel or even sit. When I expressed my concerns I was belittled and not heard. When I decided to go with another trainer she proceeded to talk trash to other clients about my dog and her progress when I ended up needing to use corrective tool because of her inability with her training method and not working for my dog.

  At Phenomenal Canine, our top priority is the safety,comfort and success of every dog. We take a humane, evidence-based approach to training, adhering to guidelines from respected organizations such as the ********************************************** (*****). For young puppies under six months of age, we recommend age-appropriate, positive reinforcement based training techniques to set them up for success in their careers. During our sessions with this client, we observed the puppy grasping age appropriate sit and down behaviors that are the foundation for many future skills. When concerns about barking arose, we offered practical advice, including creating a calmer environment . We educated and illustrated to the client calming games from the widely respected Controlled Unleashed. These skills and techniques have proven effective for many reactive dogs, young puppies, and are tailored to meet individual needs. At no point did we belittle the client or dismiss their concerns, we aim to support every client with understanding, respect and to meet them at where their dog is as well as where their individual skill level is. We find that ******* puppies though foundational training prematurely leads to burnout or an early retirement from service work.Our records show that we provided five lessons (four attended and one cancellation), not four as mentioned in the review. These lessons were paid for in advance through the ***** ******** and the organization which supplied the ***** has been informed and refunded. Unfortunately, we were not informed of additional concerns such as scavenging or reactivity to people before the client chose to discontinue our services. Given the short time frame of our work together, we were unable to fully address the dog's challenges.We wish to clarify that we maintain a professional and respectful relationship with all of our clients. We categorically deny the accusation of speaking negatively about this client or their dog to others, as this goes against our core values. We strive to build trust within our community, and aim to forge life-long relationships with our clients and their dogs. We regret that this client did not find our training approach suitable for their needs and wish them the best in their continued training journey. We remain committed to providing compassionate, science-based training for all our clients and their dogs.
