      STAY AWAY FROM IONOS!!!Customer service is horrible; you schedule calls with the assigned "personal consultant" but never receive any. They flood your inbox and dashboard with a million things and "offers" for products you don't actually need. If, for any reason, even if the assigned personal consultant or customer service representative never gave you a callback to cancel, you can cancel the contract. However, you still get charged for something you never meant to add since the beginning. On top, let's say you acknowledge you didn't cancel on time, but it's a product/service that doesn't make sense AT ALL, well, sorry you still will pay and cannot switch to another service that may help you.If it weren'tt for the fact that I could not transfer the domain I purchased with them (oh! That's another one, by the way), I'd run as far as I could from Ionos. It's been the most horrible experience I have ever had: hidden fees, misleading advertisements, confusing offers, etc.

      First review. I spoke with an IONOS specialist, ****** on 12/28/24 in regards to a transfer of my venture portfolio of approximately 900 domain, 400 of which we plan to transition from Godaddy. After reviewing a substantial portion of IONOS' customer reviews, my only comment is that they are waaaaaaaaaay underestimated and are by far the best partner in a generally opaque industry. ***** was immediately attentive and most importantly objectively fair in assessing my options to move away from *******. This is important because it shows that she and the IONOS platform appreciate the value of consultation - not just sales like their larger competitor, *******. I hope this review starts a trend that improves IONOS' rating to a level commensurate to their relative competance. I am going to entrust the IONOS team with the bulk of my venture's digital assets going forward and I am confident that the relationship will continue to lead to mutually beneficial outcomes. IONOS, in our subject opinion, is one of the belllweather firms in a domain registrar oligopoly which has let us down - principally Godaddy.       If you choose to not renew they send you to collections if you don't cancel in the exact 30 day window. This is a scam because all companies give a ***** period and suspend services and its your option to renew. They are acting like I bought a car from them. I don't have services with them and I have to pay collections for a year renewal that I'm not using.

      Our services are set to automatically renew unless canceled prior to the renewal date to prevent interruptions. Auto-renewal can be turned off anytime before the renewal date. Nonpayment does not cancel a service, as explicit permission is needed due to permanent data loss upon cancellation.

      When canceled, all associated datadomains, emails, web files, ****** permanently deleted. Notifications about account status are sent to the email on file and the Control Panel's notification center. We have reached out to the email address on file for the account we located based on the information in your review.

      This company is insane! Signed up for a month to try it out, a few days in I learned it's not the one for me so I canceled, was told I was "still in a trial". After canceling the next two months I get billed but not for just 1 thing, I magically ended up with multiple contracts, and low and behold 12 month contracts. I put up a fight, after being told to email a letter to request the cancelation in writing, I watched 4 more months of payments leave my account. I've fought and fought. 3 days ago I talked to them again and got nowhere so I closed my debit card. 2 days later I'm getting a call from a collection agency saying that Ionos claims I haven't paid them in 3 months and I owe a gob of money. Absolutely ridiculous and I will be pursuing legal action against them. I'm an extremely wealthy man and I aim to budget $150k just to make sure they're shut down.

      Ionos seems to excel in bad-faith practices. They make the cancellation of a contract all but impossible. Cancellation procedures and links are cryptic or very well-hidden and complex. Reaching customer service live was impossible for me until they gave me an ultimatum to pay for a service I had cancelled on the same day as the subscription. They did not uphold their guarantee/promise for a full refund if not satisfied. They continue to hold my domaine name, which I worked very hard to come up with, hostage, leaving me with no option to go to another provider. I have no doubt that they will refute my claim as they have been doing so all along. What I am claiming is absolutely true and I have dated emails to back me up. I do not recommend this provider at all. You will notice that all reviews claim similar contract disputes and non-compliance from the seller. The words “impossible to cancel contract” or “tremendously difficult to cancel a contract” come up again and again and they simply deduct fees from your account, notwithstanding a cancellation. I have finally been able to contact the Solutions Manager with a detailed account of my misfortune and they simply repeated their threatening ultimatums. Feels a lot like a scam. You need only to look at their BBB rating to be forewarned. DO NOT risk your domaine name with them as they tend to keep them to try to extort fees from you. There are other web hosting providers out there.

      Canceling a contract is one thing, having them com3 back and tell me that there are 3 contracts..they said sorry the confusion and cancelled all contracts and still have me in collections for an account I don't use.. you should be ashamed of yourselves. You can ****** see thst there is no activ9ty on the domain and whwn your number comes up spam...who answeres those. And never received an email about being sent to collections.. I am not paying for this..

      Absolutely disgraceful! After being a customer for 15 years, I had $100 fraudulently debited from my account. When I caught it and reported the issue within 30 days, I was passed from one useless representative to anothersix in totaleach giving me the same runaround about needing approval from the security team for a refund.Five days later, no refund. So I called again, only to be told the refund was approved but not processed because the security team hadnt unblocked my account. Are you kidding me? I wasted more time speaking to yet another clueless **** who had no solution other than pushing the issue back to the same incompetent security team.This company is an absolute joke. The CEO and *** should be ashamed. The leadership here either has no clue what theyre doing or theyre actively playing games with customers money. How does a ********************** let its internal processes get this messed up? It feels like a scam when I have to spend four hours just to get back $100 that was stolen from me.Whoever is in charge needs to get fired, starting at the top. If you value your time, money, or sanityRUN the opposite direction.

      Much like everyone else, I am here to complain about the bait-and-switch that IONOS is pulling with their contracts. I was sent to collections for a bill that was overdue by several months because I had no idea my payments didn't go through; so IONOS decided to close my account, notify me by email only, and send me to collections. I went in today to check my account, only to find out I'v ebeen sent to collections and owe $206. You have to manually opt out of everything. And if you don't, and your payment doesn't go through, which would typically mean a cancellation only for most companies, IONOS will send you to collections. I have cancelled all my contracts with IONOS. I WAS planning to move all my clients over to IONOS this next month as I enjoyed their ease of use, but this interaction was so shady and scummy that I can never in good confidence recommend them again. I would have happily renewed my contract had I known my payments failed. BUT IONOS sending me to collections over this in such a short period of time, I will never deal IONOS again. And I will happily never suggest IONOS to my clients again! STOP MAKING YOUR CUSTOMERS MANUALLY OPT OUT OF RENEWALS. AND STOP SENDING YOUR CUSTOMERS TO COLLECTIONS ON A CONTRACT THEY'VE NOW CANCELLED. IF YOU HAVE TO FORCE A CUSTOMER INTO A CONTRACT RENEWAL WITH YOU, YOU OBVIOUSLY HAVE ZERO CONFIDENCE IN YOUR PRODUCT! Making the opt out process so complicated is why you have a less than 1.2 star rating on here, and well over 13 pages of complaints. The fact that you haven't updated this policy or way of doing business says a lot about your intentions and lack of dedication to customer satisfaction.

      When an order is placed, our standard terms and conditions, which include automatic renewals to ensure uninterrupted service, are clearly outlined, agreed upon and included in the confirmation email. Automatic renewal is standard in our industry to help customers avoid downtime and ensure that their websites remain active, as we understand how crucial web presence is. That said, automatic renewals can be turned off at any time through the control panel, and detailed instructions on how to do this are available in our help center.
      A temporarily lock is placed on a service due to non-payment after several attempts to process the renewal. We send multiple notifications regarding the overdue balance to both the email on file and the control panel's notification center.
      We understand your frustration regarding the collections process. Accounts are forwarded to collections only after an extended period of non-payment and multiple contact attempts. If a termination request is received and the balance remains outstanding, this is due to the contract being active at the time of the request.

      These scammers will sell you a domain for $1 make it extremely difficult for you to cancel or transfer it then charge you 3 times what other companies charge for a domain. I would file a dispute but I need my domain. Stay away from these scammers.
