    My family and I had an above ground pool installed in the summer of 2021. The company that did the excavation just left a pile of rocks and dirt without grading the sides and around the pool. I had a retaining wall built and my son installed pavers around the pool deck. While the wall and pavers looked great the slope around the pool was uneven, loaded with rocks, and needed to be graded. I contacted five (5) local landscaping and grading contractors to get quotes & suggestions. Jason, the owner of Mini Backhoe, by far was the most honest and reasonably priced solution. One vendor strongly urged me to allow his company to do hardscaping to control the slopes and quoted $ 26,000.00. Other vendors were not responsive until I spoke with Jason. He was prompt, professional and said that hardscaping was a waste of my good money. His company, Mini Backhoe, had extensive experience in excavation and grading. Jason recommended gradual grading around the pool, followed by planting quality topsoil and grass seed and then laying straw over the entire area. Jason also addressed an issue in the front of my home that was caused when a new sewer lateral system was installed last year. His team was able to properly grade the front and created a swail for the water to run off instead of lying in the front lawn. Jason arrived on the day scheduled and walked me through exactly what his team, led by Sean was going to do. Sean and the two other men were very professional and polite. All work was completed in one day and the final bill was $ 300.00 less than the original quote. I highly recommend Jason and Mini Backhoe to anyone who needs excavation and grading work. Jason was honest and provided a solution that made me feel comfortable. I know that I was not being taken advantage of. I am glad I did not listen the vendor who quoted $ 26,000 for work that was not necessary and that I listened to Jason. Mitch Yanak, Plymouth Pa, job completed 7-18-22,
