      We contracted Barton Construction to remodel our basement, which includes a walk-in basement closet. He did not complete the job as contracted and took a check for $2760 for closet materials in February and walked off the job to start a new job(s) before ever starting the closet remodel. These are the task left incomplete: 1) Remodel Walk-in Closet 2) Grout tile at Bottom of the Steps 3) Mortar and grout one tile in the kitchen, 4) Complete attachment of kitchen cabinet handles, 5) Sand and smooth drywall 6) Complete trim at fireplace ceiling 7) Touch up ceiling paint 8) Replace transition strip from vinyl to tile flooring 9) Install two outlets 10) Haul away garbage. ********************************* said the job would take 2.5 weeks and that he would not leave our house until the job was complete. I documented his laundry list of reasons on why the job is delayed/incomplete including falling down the steps, hurt back (multiple times), pinched nerve, dentist, vacation, funeral, staffing issues, work needing complete at other job. Most often he just doesnt show up to work for a few days without any notice. He is a poor communicator and inconsiderate of your time and home (left cigarette butts throughout the premises and left used materials, etc.). I would not hire Barton Construction under any circumstance. In addition, he has a poor performing staff. He had to fire one employee on the spot (his words) because of poor performance). This is by far the worst experience that I ever had with a contractor, and I do not want anyone else to have to relive this nightmare.

      They did a bathroom/shower remodel. They had to remove old tub,and installed new shower,and exhaust fan. They did an absolutely gorgeous job. Cleaned up and left everything beautiful. Kept price down to. I give them 5 star rating.
