      CertainTeed Landmark 30 year shingle is falling off my roof. My insurance company won't replace it because they say it is defective. State Farm has made it clear so no matter what storm hits my house the shingles are defective. WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO! I multiple sclerosis. I am disabled. I sent in pictures and had a roofer get a shingle. CertainTeed stated nothing is wrong with it. Maybe I need to send another one was the response. You need to inspect. Last storm 5 more shingles came off. Your company needs to take care of us that trusted you. Great Roof falling apart. I am on a limited income. You have more resources to handle this issue.       Hello: Please call ************** re your claim CR0893652. Your samples have a fungus on them, which needs to be cleaned by a professional roof cleaning company. The roof was applied in 2007 and your past our algae warranty of 10yrs. The granular loss is from normal weathering.

      After coming very close to commiting to a purchase I will no longer consider their product based on reviews. I called their claims dept and asked them about all these unsatisfied complaints and the reply was in keeping with the complaints. He said, "Was there a question in there somewhere?". Then he said, "I can't help it if you believe everything you read on the internet.". The condescending tone and total lack of concern re customer complaints did them in and I thank all of you who informed us about all the problems.

      I had CertainTeed Landmark 30 year shingle installed in 2007. I went through having a shingle sent along with photos. Everything they asked for. The reply was the shingle was holding up . Well I don't agree with this . I was sold a defective product. I want CertainTeed to come to my house and inspect it. I have had 3 roofers. My insurance company denied claim because they say it is a defective product. They sent a Warranty to me along with a denial. My gutters are always covered with granulars . Since I jumped through the hoops sending everything already why do you think you are not responsible? I demand a fair reply! An inspection! Linda Herold

      We installed CertainTeed cement board siding in February 2014. We noticed cracks in July 2020. They have since gotten worse. We have contacted three siding companies and have bids that range from approximately $40,000 to $56,000. All three said it was defective siding, not improper installation. There was a class action suit for the defective siding that was settled by CertainTeed, but we have been told by the Settlement Administrator that we were not eligible because it only covers installation through 2013, even though our siding was manufactured in 2013. This should be an admission the siding was defective. The product obviously continued to be defective, even after the class settlement. CertainTeed has since exited the cement board siding business. We filed an original claim for a single side September 2020, but the company on offered $1231.08 for a repair estimated to cost about $8,000. We didn’t take the offer. The problem continued to worsen. We filed a second claim for the who house with CertainTeed, 2/18/2022. They offered $4,079.12, as a settlement, but have since rescinded that offer saying the product was installed outside the Class period; not proven to be a qualifying product (even though we photographed the back of an extra board which shows that it is a CertainTeed product); does not show “qualifying damage” (even though we sent pictures of the cracks); and failing to properly or timely respond to the administrator’s request for more information (even though the only response was to bad offer and we have been looking for legal counsel). They also, never asked for additional information, only a sign off on a low settlement amount. It is outside the settlement date, but that doesn’t preclude that it should not be included due to continuing manufacturing defects.

      I am writing to express a formal complaint about the unsatisfactory handling of a CertainTeed Landmark series shingles roof replacement claim for my daughter's home. This matter, initiated in fall 2020, has been plagued by prolonged delays and inadequate communication. Despite confirming shingle defects during a meeting with the Area CertainTeed Representative and the roofing contractor, subsequent correspondence and approvals have been lacking, leaving us uninformed about the claim's progress. Notably, the roofing contractor received payment, even though my daughter hadn't received any communication of claim approval. Our concerns center around the lack of transparent payment processes and insufficient communication. I am seeking assistance from the Better Business Bureau or CertainTeed to expedite a fair and timely resolution, complete the agreed-upon roof replacement, and rectify these persistent communication issues.

      My husband and I had minor roof damage from a wind and snow storm. Since our roof is just a couple years old, we remembered that we had a supposedly great roof warranty and that it shouldn't be a problem to get approximately 5-10 shingles fixed. We couldn't have been more wrong. To submit a claim with this roofing company is actually laughable the amount of steps that they make you do. First, you have to fill out an extensive application explaining things that only someone in the roofing industry would know—things like the full surface area of the roof, number of squares, ridge length, slope of the roof, shingle type, etc. You have to also include numerous photos with the claim, PULL a full size shingle off the roof and MAIL it in (like it's 1960s), pay $50 to an outside company to get a certified aerial view of your roof sent over, the full invoice from the purchase, etc. It's an insane hoop to jump through, but we figured fine we will fill out your ridiculous application and then that will be it, right? Wrong again. They then make you email the most obscure, sketchy email address (random letters at some random domain), send one word replies, are incredibly rude and unhelpful. After "reviewing" our application, they declined it because they said the shingle we pulled off the roof wasn't the right size. I asked to explain how it wasn't right. Turns out apparently it was the "wrong" shingle to send them and that our application stated a "different" shingle type in the application. I emailed them about this and nothing... I can only assume they intend to make us submit ANOTHER application. This company is as sketchy, unethical, and disgusting as they come. STAY AWAY from them. They are incredibly dishonest. It sucks that we trusted our HOME to the protection of such a terrible company.

      Five-year-old shingles blew off in a windstorm. CertainTeed will not honor warranty nor will Arrow roofing who installed product. State Farm Insurance will not cover either.

      Paid extra for five star warranty. Both roofer and CertainTees agree the shingles do not adhere and the entire roof needs to be replaced in just seven years. CertainTeed rather than honoring the five star warranty for which I paid extra by agreeing to provide all material and necessary labor, sent me a so called acknowledgment agreement which is a settlement document. To get what I paid for they demand I not change a word and sign. The document waives my right, in the way I clearly read, to seek other damages from my roofer. It also allows CertainTeed to disapprove payments for labor. CertainTeed will not agree to any changes such as providing all necessary and required labor. To me, the consumer lawsuits against CertainTeed are more than justified. It sells products defective products and fails to simply honor its sold warranties. I find it to me one deceptive and dishonest corporation.

      Hello If your waiting on a Sure Start Plus Warranty (3, 4 or 5 Star), you need to contact your roofer as the SSM (Select Shingle Master) can only register those. If your roofer did register it, please call ************** to verify that it was registered by him and they can mail it to you. We can only register the Limited Warranties.       As a company that mottos Quality Made Certain, Satisfaction Guaranteed, I have not experienced quality nor satisfaction. My Board and Batten vinyl siding has been installed twice, with CertainTeed claiming an install error both times. The vinyl has bubbled/oil-canned twice on all sides of my home. The cherry on top is the warranty rep said I have no valid warranty on all my siding since the original siding was installed incorrect. Now I am left with warped/bubbled siding and a company that does not stand behind their product. Do yourself a favor and find a different siding company.
