A quote was provided of $3700 for a move of 0.8 miles. A final bill of $6000 was presented. We were told that a delivery on Saturday would include overtime, we were told that would be an extra $350-$400. The estimator we worked with failed to explain he should have said per hour. He didnt. Also the day of pick up, the mover unilaterally made the decision to bring in a second truck and crew to pack up our house. That was added onto our bill with zero discussion about it. I involved a friend of mine who is a lawyer. We objected to the bill, and explained our side of the issues. We wanted to come to an agreement and settle the matter. I first offered a $4200 settlement that was the fairest price based on their numbers. They got there legal involved and immediately added a $600 legal fee and demanded full payment. We then offered to split the difference between what I offered and thier insanely greedy bill, at $5150. They again rejected and demanded $6600 and the threat of additional legal fees. My lawyer suggested we go to court but Im not a wealthy person who can afford to pay crazy high legal fees. Against my better judgement I paid the $6600. I would highly recommend that no one ever use this dishonest company. Based on their lawyers response, in two e-mails ($600), that the movers estimator is a bold face liar. At best hes incompetent. Either way their lawyer is a jerk, and they are a dishonest and unethical company. I would have given zero stars if that was an option. I assume they ripped me off because their business is light during the winter months.

It is regrettable that *** ***** feels this way. Doubly so in light of:1. The second truck was needed due to the closing issue. *** ***** told the estimator they would be moving all the small items themselves and we would move the large furniture. Due to closing issues *** ***** could not access the new home when he thought he would be able to. Thus necessitating us moving everything including items that had not been included in the original estimate. If the charges for the second truck were not explained to him that is something we will seek to improve in future similar situations.2. *** ***** goods were stored on two trucks on Friday. Normally we would charge $800 per truck for on-van storage. Due to low volume of business and empathy for the customers situation we opted to waive the on-van storage charges. Had he opted for Monday we would not have charged on-van storage as the trucks were not required to be used Saturday or Sunday.3. The only factually accurate number in this entire review is $377 per hour which is the overtime rate he was charged. Every other number posted is wrong.4. The salesperson which *** ***** just libeled has been doing this for over 8 years. There were no mistakes or incompetence on his part and he is well versed in the rates we have filed with the ***. We are confident he was caught on the phone with no access to his tariff and communicated the overtime HOURLY rate would be between $350 to $450. *** ***** obviously misunderstood that conversation.5. We feel this was perfectly fair in light of the fact we had no control over the closing and *** ***** opted to go with a Saturday delivery rather than wait until Monday.6. We sent *** ***** an invoice which gave him 30 days to pay per our contract.7. On day 31 we filed with the magistrate against *** *****.8. We did receive his lawyers letter..two and half weeks after the date that was on the letter and long after we had filed with the magistrate.9. We left the voicemail as we were giving the customer one last chance to resolve this before pursuing legal action.10. Our Bill of Lading clearly states that any legal fees we incur associated with making collection are the customers responsibility. *** ***** chose to increase the total charges due to us by forcing us to engage an attorney.11. We are a small business and a far cry from big business status. We have made concessions to customers in the past when we felt we were in the wrong.12. In the end *** ***** voluntarily opted to pay the charges in full rather than proceed to court where our attorney said he would be fighting a losing battle.

I never told the estimator I would be moving all the small items, this is the first lie of many here. Nothing the movers did after the experience began was discussed with me, they made unilateral decisions without my input whatsoever. No one ever talked about a fee for storage, this is a fantasy response, to make themselves look better in this situation. I can't give factual numbers because the paperwork was marked over with whiteout and then rewritten. The person I have supposedly "libeled" knows what he did. Surely, others have been wronged by his incompetence. I hope others come forward, I am confident I am not the only person who has been taken advantage of by this company. Furthermore, this response from the company is mostly make believe. I only paid and didn't go to court because I couldn't afford to pay their lawyer, my lawyer, and the ridiculous bill that they conjured out of vague information and gaps of communication on their part. I stand by my statement 100%.
