    I am just warning those who are looking for a honest plumber to not call Donnelly's Plumbing because they will severely overcharge you! If you do get an estimate from them be sure to check the pricings of the materials they will be using BEFORE you agree to anything because their markups are outrageous!
    Does $1,600 to replace a $200 tiolet sound excessive?

    I had called Donnelly's about drain clog (this is an annual thing). This was not an emergency and I had asked for an rough estimate of what they charge for such a service. They told me "the technician would be able to better judge that when he got there" and that it would be a $60 for the trip out. I have had this service done a few times in the past and it has never been more than $400 and assumed it would be about the same.

    The tech arrived timely and was great, up until he told me the cost of the job was going to be over $700 (which I was told was a discounted price)! Almost Double what others had charged not just a year earlier. The job took less than 45 mins to complete. I figured well the cost of the special drain snake machine needs to be covered and whatnot...oh wait the model of the drain machine they use retails online for $375.

    This is a clear example of predatory pricing and I know it was my fault for thinking that a company that was supposed to be "family owned" would come and charge an honest price. Moral of the story, avoid them at all costs, any other plumbing group can come do what they do for a much more reasonable price.
