I am experiencing the same issue as others - I was told by my medical provider (who believed it) and by Genomind that the total cost of the test was $399. Now over a year later, I have received a bill for $701.00 and a letter to the effect that the total cost was actually almost $6K, but insurance adjusted down to around $1K. We already paid the $399 so now we still owe $701.00. The true cost was never communicated and we were led to believe that it was $399.00 total. Very unscrupulous company.

Genomind sent me a list of local psychiatrists that supposedly used their services. The clinics were small or solo practices. Most had left the clinic or were on a leave. I had to reach out again for a list of virtual doctors. I made an appointment with Apraku Psychiatry in Boston MA for the next day. Three hours later I changed my mind and canceled. The clinic charged me $223 for canceling with less than 48 hours notice. I pointed out that I scheduled the appointment for the next day and canceled 3 hours later but they still charged me. Apraku Psychiatry has no address or phone number and no Google business site to review them. They communicate only through email. If the Genomind test is effective, why aren't large health systems using it? It seems like an add on sales opportunity for solo and small practitioners.

I agree.. stay away ! Management, billing and IT departments are useless! I have been trying since 1/24 to get them resubmit claim to my insurance since they sent it to wrong insurance company in January. I have verified numerous times with my insurance and they have never received my claim from Genomind (never even though Genomind said it was denied multiple times)?? They knew this and still insisted I had to Pay $399.00.Genomind says claim was denied because diagnosis code was wrong (again my insurance company says they never received the claim).Insurance company on 3 way call when I call Genomind. Asked Genomind to send me claim so I can submit. They will send super bill but not the claim they actually filed.I was given diagnosis codes by Genomind that my doctor provided with my orders and paperwork for them to do testing. I called Genomind to get procedure codes so I could check coverage with my insurance company. My insurance said with diagnosis codes my doctor provided to them and the procedure codes Genomind provided to me..I called my insurance company. With diagnosis codes and procedure codes and my insurance said all covered 100% allowable charges. We just cant get Genomind to submit. I am now requesting that they send me my super bill ( so I can submit myself. They will not provide the so called claim they submitted to my insurance company.I have also made a report to several state agencies. Tired of getting run around.Genomind did finally decide to send me super bill but not the claim. (Refused to send me copy of claim. I Wonder what they are hiding?

Scam! The report they provide is less than useless, based largely on ethnicity. Critically, the price of service is not $399 as advertised but $5900! Our insurance covered less that $1000, so we are left with almost $5000 out of pocket. This is a total rip off! I'm considering suing in small claims court. If your doctor wants you to take this test, your doctor is probably being paid a bribe by Genomind.DO NOT USE GENOMIND!

After being told that if my insurance covered any of it I would get my $399.00 back I found that this is a lie. My insurance paid them $935.52 and I have called Genomind twice and have been given the run around being told that the actual price is $1750.00. I know a scam when I see it and they have been paid three times the amount they state is their fee, yet they have NO plan to ever reimburse me. CORRUPT and BAD FAITH. Buyer beware.

Consistently unable to contact them. They never return emails or calls. And even the time I got into a queue for call, the moment we got a hold of a rep, the call drops. Upon recall, a "due to unusual circumstances, we cannot talk your call. Goodbye" message appears for the rest of the day. I've wrote 3 emails on separate days with no response. Even for a HIPAA release request (which I needed), but no answer. Their contacting system is absolutely abysmal.

Genomind was referred to us from our child's psychiatrist. We were told it would cost $399 and did we want to pay for it. We took some time but were convinced that it would be a valuable tool. We only found out after we received the report that the cost was $3418!! We were NEVER told it was going to cost that much. We felt scammed by our doctor and Genomind. At no time did Genomind ever disclose the cost of the tests. Nor did the doctor. When I called Genomind customer service, they said the $399 is the down payment. Our insurance won't cover the cost and now we are stuck paying the bill, very disappointing experience and in my opinion fraudulent. They should clearly disclose how much it should cost upfront. Additionally, even the $399 is not being covered by our FSA because there was no detailed receipt given with details on the date of service or description of service, overall a very disappointing result for genetic data that was minorly helpful. It's unfortunate because I am a scientist and a big proponent of genetic testing, but the way this company goes about getting the money for the test is in my opinion fraudulent and misleading at best.

Genomind is a company operating on completely unscientific terms, essentially running a business that attempts to scam consumers by billing exorbitant amounts after the provider (the health care provider that recommends testing via Genomind, that is) tells the consumer that the out of pocket expense should be no more than $300 and is often zero. I fell victim to this scam and received a bill for $4350, which prompted me to attempt contact with the company. I was then informed that the actual bill to me was $300 and within a week I received a new invoice that showed the billed amount as $1,500 and an 'adjustment' (no reason for the adjustment is given, and my insurance company paid nothing) of $1,200 that brings the total I owe to $300. I sent the company a letter questioning the ethics of their billing practice and the uselessness of the test report and received no response. A few months later I received a debt collection notice. Without the time and energy to fight the debt collection, I paid the $300 extortion and learned my lesson.
