This organization has a series of campuses. The **************** campus has a Villas section & a Veranda section. The Verandas are in a large building and have various sized apartments. Redstone has various levels of care avail able. In the independent care level there are residents and renters also called tenants. The residents pay an entrance in the range of $60,000 plus or minus depending on the room. Renters dont pay an entrance fee. I had planned to go in as a resident & there are certain advantages. However I ran into some concerns & decided I would rather be a renter for awhile and see how living there was before committing $60,000. While I was going to be a resident I could bring my own ******************* would put in a water line for $40. When I changed to a renter, it was no problem according to the sales person. I would get my 30% entrance fee back and would lose certain advantages. So I left the sales office figuring Id go in a rental. The next morning I got a call from upper management that since I was a renter I couldnt have my own fridge. At that point I decided Redstone wasnt for me. They apparently felt it was better to wait until someone willing to put down the $60K came along. However even if I had gone in as a renter I would still have to pay $40 for the unusable water line. I decided I wasnt going in at all but I still had to pay for the water line. As soon as I became a renter I was no longer wanted so by not allowing me the fridge I would probably prefer not to join. In addition to the fridge there was also a ceiling fan in the bedroom which I had to get installed myself. You see apparently none of the entrance fee, some of which was used to improve the facilities for the residents, was ever used to put lights in the bedroom ceilings. Again in as a renter I was no longer to install that either. BTW the handbook never said I couldnt have my fridge but it said I could install a dishwasher which would become their property.
