    We hired Shalkham Electric to install ethernet cabling for a business in ****, **. Shalkham incorrectly installed riser rated cable in a plenum space, which is an *** violation. As a result, the City of Erie electrical inspector failed their work and required it to be removed to avoid fines. Shalkham never returned my phone calls, voicemails, or emails regarding this issue, leaving us no choice but to move forward with another contractor. We will never work with Shalkham Electric again.

    Had a tree limb take out power to the house in Feb 2023. Although they did actully return my phone call the first thing they wanted to do wa replace the circuit breaker box for $4100. Had not even seen the problem yet. Told them the box was replaced in 2014. I told them NOT to relace the box, look at the actual problem and tell me how much it woud cost. Penelec had to reattach the line to the house, Shalkham was to attach from where Penelec left off to the meter (meter ws ok). A coulpe hours go by ad I hear thy are finished, no actual quote. $2550 later I find out the labor was doube time even though I was not quoted at double tme nor was it after normal businss hours, Also charged $300 for the permit. The inspector never got to close out the inspection even though Shalkham had agreed to meet him at the house twice after the repairs were made. I had to meet him to allow him inside to finish the inspection. I later found out the permit cost $15.36, my charge was $300 Get a quote and keep your eyes open. A bit of Pirate operation IMO
