    We have a MSA passport personal gas detector that needs repaired that has a lifetime warranty on the item. MSA has discontinued the item and replaced it with a newer version. I spoke to Scott in customer service with MSA and he believes since they discontinued the item that they don't have to honor the lifetime warranty. No where in the owner's manual does it state they can do this. They should have to fix it or replace it. A company is only as good as its word especially when it's on paper.

They are stating this product did not have a Lifetime Warranty, rather a Limited Warranty. Please review below and let us know if you have MSA documentation that shows otherwise as this is a very old model. Best regards,***** During its time in the market, the MSA Passport Personal Alarm was purchased with a limited warranty. This warranty does not apply to expendable or consumable parts whose normal life expectancy is less than one (1) year such as, but not limited to, batteries, sensors, and pump drive units. Combustible gas sensors, oxygen sensors, carbon monoxide and hydrogen sulfide sensors, battery packs and pumps are limited to one year from date of sale.
