I wish I didn't have to write this review but I feel obligated to do my part so that others don't fall into the same trap that, unfortunately, my husband and I did. Despite ******' very quiet, timid and non-communicative demeanor, we decided to give him a chance with our stairs - (personalities come in all shapes and sizes); however, the lack of communication really hurt us in the long run. ****** wasn't a planner, he wasn't a project manager, and he certainly wasn't someone who followed through. This left so much room for us having to guess and assume things would get done...and some were done, mind you, but not to our liking. For example, on our main landing, the balusters were not spaced evenly, so the two most middle ones were right next to one another. ****** did not see an issue with this, and we had to tell him to go back to correct it. Another example, the stair nosing was not flush to the rest of the hardwood that was used on the stair itself. So when you stepped on it, you could feel the hardwood piece was slightly sticking up...again, he didn't think there was an issue here and we had to have him fix it. The lack of attention to detail blew our mind (and yes, we did send him numerous design pictures). One week, he called out every single day with various excuses. And probably my most favorite of all was the fact that we demoed our stairs to save $800 dollars and he had no sense of urgency to start working on them or at least start with the railing at the top - and we have little kids. The stairs were supposed to be done the week of July 4th and were actually done somewhere around August 10th. What was supposed to be an exciting time for us (we waited close to a decade to do this project) was frustration and confusion more than anything. I could continue going on and on about this project but I'll spare you the other painstaking details. I hope that ****** can get his act together if he plans on running a successful business and obtaining more clients.
