PacificSource frankly sucks! Unfortunantly my employer just switched to PacificSource so for the time being I am stuck with this miserable insurance. I have had it for a full month now unfortunantly. They thought it was a good idea to deny a medication I have been taking for a few years that is working well for me. I am to the highest dose and they are telling me to try thirteen diffent medications before they will approve the one I currently taking. It is interesting that the one I am on was actually recommended by my endocrinologist, gynecologist and my family doctor. Does PacificSource not understand the challenge it is to find a balance with the medications one might be on? I realize it is about the bottom line for them. It is clear that making a profit is more important than helping someone for them. They are probably a wise finacial investment, but I pity all those who, like me, get this crappy insurance and PacificSource's bottom line is the priority over a patient's need.

Spoke with ****** I dont know how many times and nothing but attitude, finally got someone else today. First time in 5 months I have spoke with someone not name ******.... and same attitude. Must be an Oregon thing. When I contact you for an explanation of benefits your are extremely challanging to work with. The last place on earth I want to call besides ... the ***.

PacificSource claims to practice "trauma-informed" care. Ten years ago, I was traumatized by a severe adverse reaction to a prescription drug, and as a result, it is hard for me to try new medications. Sometimes I have to, for the sake of my health, but it's scary and difficult every time, and my mental health is always ***** for a while when I have to do it. I was on Vyvanse for ADHD for 7 years, and PacificSource happily covered it. Now that there are generics out, they wanted me to switch to generic lisdexamfetamine, since it's cheaper. Unfortunately, the generic did not work for me at all. My healthcare provider asked them to cover brand-name ******* so I could get back to working effectively and move on with my life. PacificSource now says I have to try twelve other alternative drugs first before they will consider Vyvanse again. They are demanding that I dig up my old trauma repeatedly and risk my mental wellbeing to keep trying alternative drugs until I find something that's just as effective without any undesirable side effects. This is not "trauma-informed" care, it's more that they've been informed of my trauma and chosen NOT to care. My life has been falling apart as a result of this nonsense. My healthcare providers have explained, over and over, why I need this specific medication. PacificSource doesn't listen. They lie, they plug their ears, they refuse to read facts you put in front of them, and they pretend that they need weeks or months to do simple things like read an email. It's not even about their bottom line-- it couldn't possibly be about money at this point. I suspect at this point that maybe someone's embarrassment about a mistake or prejudice toward ADHD people is what's holding this up. Because I'm disabled and poor and dependent on ********* I'm just stuck with them. They are incompetent at best and viciously ableist at worst.

Horrible customer service, bordering on scam. Every claim I have submitted has been denied. Everything has been fought over and resubmitted. The card is useless because they deny the charge and then cancel the card anyway. Every charge I have ever made has been this year for a copay, should be simple. If insurance covers it, there should be a no questions approval for the copay. Not to Pacificsource, EOB's are basically worthless. They have straight lied to me saying service was the previous year. After arguing several times it seems they now just give me the cold shoulder and don't even reply. Unfortunately this is the only option through my employer, and after going through this it's not worth using them again.

This is healthcare a scam. I am charged for a student health plan we do not want every term and it always takes a great deal of effort to say "no thank you we are already covered" and get your money back. Also calling customer service and benefits line on website they tried to sell me a medical alert device and would not stop talking to hear my real issue. I had to hang up and find another number. They listened but transferred me to a number no one answered. How could they be A- if they have one star?
