As a renter, I have had to endure many poor experiences with landlords. However, the bad business practice that Mr. ********************** committed needed to be shared. Mr. ********************** ensured myself and my partner that the owners of the home that we were renting were not going to be moving back into the home soon. We fully moved into the house and painted walls as there was mold and rust on the bathroom walls. A few months into our rental one of the owners of the home showed up unannounced and let us know they would be painting the exterior of the house. Not only was this a breach of our lease by showing up without 24 hours notice. We had loss of use of space for 5 days and were not compensated. The painters that the homeowner hired painted in 104 degrees. We received a notice that we would need to be out of the house within 90 days. The 90th day being exactly one year since we signed the lease. This was all within the grounds of the lease however we were not told about this in person even though Mr. ********************** was at our home 2 weeks prior after the heat failed to operate in the home, again we were not compensated for the loss of use. We were told that the home owners were intending to move back into the space, even though at the beginning of the rental process we were ensured this would not be an issue. Mr. ********************** did a walk through of the rental a full 2 weeks before our lease was up and ensured us that he would not ding '' us for anything. We expressly asked about the paint and he assured us it would not be an issue. A full month later we received our security deposit with $275 taken out for painting. We were not made aware beforehand that Mr. ********************** would be taking money out of the deposit, if we were aware we would have used the two weeks that we had to re-paint the space and had the ability to receive our full deposit. A man is only as good as his word, and this mans words mean nothing. This man can not be trusted and practices bad business.
