On January 25, 2023, Better Business Bureau contacted Seido Knives concerning an advertising claim found on its website, https://seidoknives.com/. Specifically, Seido Knives claims, "30 Money Back Guarantee, we also offer a FREE Lifetime warranty. This covers any product defects in the material or craftsmanship. We take great pride in our Seido™ knives and therefore we only tolerate excellency - nothing less. Please contact us and we will gladly schedule a return." but does not provide the details of the guarantee.
Consumers claim that any attempt to contact Seido Knives due to the quality of the product requesting a return and refund are not being answered.
BBB attempted to contact Seido Knives to reply to the customer complaints, yet no response has been received.
When using the term “warranty” or “guarantee” in product advertising, the advertiser must clearly and conspicuously include a statement that the complete details of the warranty can be seen prior to sale at the advertiser's location, viewed on the advertiser’s website or, in the case of mail or telephone order sales, made available free on written request.
Despite written requests, as of April 14, 2023, Seido Knives has not responded to BBB’s request for revisions and clarification in its advertising or response to customer complaints.
