  Talked a good game, but did not follow through. A lot of smoke/soot damage to house. I went with Service Master on recommendation of insurance agent. Service Master came in and told me different things they would do. They never wrote anything down and I was only given verbal information. Basically, the work that needed to be done was/is going to cost way more than insurance was willing to pay, so they started cutting back on things. Again, I got offered nothing in writing about what projects would not be done. They subcontracted the painting and it was not completely done. At the beginning of the ordeal, they took a lot of pictures and told me that they would put everything back in place. That was not done. Then they piled a lot of stuff in the middle of the rooms and left it there. They did not paint the stairs, they painted 3 out of 4 doors upstairs, 2 out of 4 closets upstairs. They broke several items and did tell me they would replace the blinds in the one room that they broke - but did not. Many other things were not done and the only thing that was said to me was that when they subcontracted the later part of the job, somethings would not be covered.Biggest problem to me was never keeping me informed on what they were doing or what they would not do. There was never anything in writing. I would be very hesitant to use these people again. If one were to chose this company, I would make sure you get everything in writing.
