      We had the pleasure of having Jonathan (**) be our technician. He was terrific in analyzing and communicating with us. He even provided a ways of stopping the ac line from freezing. We found McAtee LLC via *********.

      McAtee is part of our service warranty contract with our provider. They sent out a tech who never came into my home but said he had to pull Freon out and charged me $150. After that my house still wasn’t cooling and I called our provider who sent another company who said we needed Freon AFTER he checked our unit inside and out. I got charged $267.
      I complained to McAtee and they refunded me the $150 but never refunded me the $267 which I had to spend putting Freon in when I didn’t need to be done if THEIR tech didn’t pull it in the first place. They promised me for 2 weeks they are refunding me only to find out today they’re not because they don’t have proof. I said they acknowledged their did wrong by refunding me and they can get the records from our provider and I can provide them also.
      They do not stand 100% behind their work. Their are WAY to many companies with better reputations then this jack leg company.

      McAtee takes advantage of customers assigned to their services through the home warranty. We told the service tech about the problem with the hot water tank. We decided to file a claim to have the part needed to be replaced. The technician confirmed and wrote up a quote for the part. We were told the part needed to be ordered and that we would be contacted when the part arrived. It was explained the part and service would be 100% covered by the warranty. We were contacted via text messages to say we needed to pay $430 and have 24 hours to make the appointment. On my first call to McAtee to ask why I was charged, I was told the warranty company would not pay for the part and that we must replace the hot water tank. The charges were for modifications. When I spoke to the warranty company, they did explain they decided to have the tank replaced rather than fix the part. In addition, they explained the technician said in his notes it is recommended the tank be replaced. The warranty company said the service is covered, but they will not pay for the modification. I explained that the technician did not correctly assess anything that needed adjusting or changing. The only thing the technician looked at was the digital box attached to the tank. The warranty company said the service company determines the cost, and I can ask them to reduce it. The second call to McAtee was to ask how the technician diagnosed the problem without a proper inspection because I had him walk me through what he did, and I signed the paperwork to say the part needed replacing as we described. They could not give me a straight answer. When I persistently asked for an explanation, they said this was a standard fee that they charged everyone. We are paying the warranty company, and not to mention it is not protecting their customers. We called the ***** ******** home warranty to express my concern; they offered a payout to resolve the issue. Inflating prices have put a strain on us. Bad business!

      They are definitely scammers. I had a pipe that cracked in the wall behind my hot water heater. They recommended that it be replaced because it was leaking and gone bad. Even though it still was producing hot water downstairs. Then they left and didn’t return for 6 days after with the heater my warranty paid it’s portion and my portion was $100 plus $552 for uncovered charges out of pocket per McAtee costs. They swapped out the heater and it was still leaking. While to our surprise that it was not ever leaking from the water heater. It was a crack in the pipe in the wall behind the water heater. What plumber wouldn’t notice this. It was a scam I tell you. They left my house took my old heater and said don’t use the water until we get authorization to fix the pipe. Now I’m out of $652 no water and no one to fix the pipe unless I pay again. I want my money back. I was robbed

      They are so bad! But we were at the mercy of ********* ***. If McAtee doesn't get our water heater fixed in the next couple of days (been over a week and the part they said would be overnighted two days won't be here for three MORE days (yeah, I'll believe it when I see it), we'll probably just bite the bullet, and call our regular go-to reliable ******* to take care of it. Worth the loss of money we've spent for this to get someone who will take care of it. (Oh, there customer service is awful, too.)

      Highly recommend! **** came and immediately honed in on the suspected issue with my heater. He quickly pointed out other issues that should be addressed eventually, but nothing too serious yet. He was very professional, friendly, and my cats liked him. The capacitor was replaced and all was well within 25 minutes of his arrival. Very grateful for such a customer focused service.
