I thought this was a reputable firm because they used to advertise on the "Golden Opportunities" TV program on Channel 3. So I contacted them about an elderly woman who wants another lawyer and have the current power of attorney with her lawyer revoked. Her current attorney does not explain her financial situation, or monthly fees, or attorney fees.
      • He has not given her copies of her itemized monthly bill in over five years.
      • He will not talk to her, and is always busy or in a meeting.
      • He had her sign a power of attorney form, and other forms.
      • She could not read the papers, and does not know what she signed.
      • He took mortgages on her house and does not explain what her bills are.
She wants another attorney to handle her finances, and help her revoke the current power of attorney. But Solomon, Steiner & Peck, Ltd. replied that they would not help. They said: "Thank you for contacting our law firm. Unfortunately, we are unable to assist you with this situation." I called back and asked why, and was told, "She already has an attorney." But I contacted them because she wants a NEW attorney and she does not like the way her current attorney is handling her finances. So I am very disappointed with this law firm.
