  I never heard of Meisner before, until I took Houde School of Acting ?? through Zoom. Zoom what a wonderful invention to take top classes from all over the world, from the comfort of your home. Houde is a top notch acting class with wonderful, loving ?? kind teachers & students. After I got to know what Meisner is from the Queen of Meisner Jessica ******. I found my Meisner match made in Heaven. I love Jessica’s great explanation and her creative analogies to help us understand the Meisner Technique. Since it’s about repeating when in doubt repeat. I do that in real life. The pinch & out, going off your partner’s emotions, emotional preparation, independent activity. I love it. I found an acting technique that works for me. Jessica M***** is a loving and compassionate teacher towards her actor students. She is the best Top Notch Meisner teacher out there. I love my Dream Team Tuesday night classes. I love being in the Houde. I highly recommend everyone who wants to learn Meisner or any kind of Acting . Houde School of Acting is the best place to be. I love being in the Houde ?????? With Love ******** *****

  I have been a Houde Student for over 3 years. I've been a part of many private coaching and acting class studios during my career. This is by far is the best. The range of classes and live events are incredible at Houde. The system they have for a new actor starting out in the program, is one of the most fluid, warmest feeling any actor can feel coming into a new environment. The online variety is amazing, with each instructor offering different perspectives. Im in San Diego, and I have traveled multiple times to shoot demos and attend Live events. I am Biased...of course. However I challenge any actor to shop different acting studios, and prove me wrong. As a side note. I started later in my life. I am 50 years old, and run a very large Real Estate company in California for the last 24 years. I feel like I have a good understanding of what a good business looks like. They are a must join

  Poorly run. The head of this acting school is a very capable acting teacher, however, she is not a capable school/business administrator. Most everything is run loosely without any processes, policies or safety rails for problems that arise. For example, there is no set policy for teachers to follow if there is a problematic occurrence among students. Further, teachers can be abusive - basically playing judge, jury and hangman - and there’s little protection for his victim. Since there are no rules, there is no recourse. In my personal experience, the teacher was inappropriate with me and, in short, the school attempted to try to convince me that these things didn’t happen in the school’s setting or on school class time but they most definitely did and I had explained that to school administration in writing. After nearly 9 years, I no longer felt comfortable being there any more. Since I had paid tuition for the year, I asked for a prorated refund (over $1000) and I was refused. The schools handling of this was completely inept. There were no policies in place, there were no significant actions taken, and in the end I was told half truths which seems to be basically a form CYA and attempted pacifying. The problematic teacher still appears as a current instructor on the website (as of 7/24/2023) even though I was told differently. I am a fully grown adult. Imagine if I had been a minor.
