    I entered into a drive asphalt repair and seal coating contract with Eli Paving and Sealcoating on 4/10/24. The contract cost was $7500 with a 50% deposit of $3750 made on 4/10. The work was targeted to be performed on 4/19/24 but due to weather conditions it was delayed to start on 4/24. Unfortunately for reasons not associated with Eli Paving, I had to stop the work prior to Eli arriving at the job site or purchasing the asphalt. Eli agreed to work with us to perform the work when the circumstances were resolved that stopped the drive repair. I remained in contact with Eli George as to the status of the job until I officially informed Eli the contract would be cancelled on 5/30. I requested the return of the $3750 deposit and was informed that he did not have the cash to return it due to several personal issues with his family. During the period of 5/30 through 8/27 Eli and I had 12 calls discussing a solution which I crafted to amend the contract to allow the deposit to remain held by him as long as he signed an agreement to hold the price until 12/31/25, during which time the work may be able to be completed. He verbally agreed but never returned the written agreement to finalize the solution. In the course of all 12 of the phone calls, Eli never followed up on any commitment he made to provide information or take action like signing and returning the agreement. His lack of professionalism and simple business courtesy, plus his refusal to execute the agreement crafted to resolve his return of deposit issue, has created significant distrust. I now question his intent to meet his verbal or signed agreements making me uncomfortable in doing any business with Eli Paving. I am now forced to pursue a legal remedy to receive the refund which I am owed. ** ****** ***** ******* Ohio
