  We have been with Benjamin Franklin Plumbing for more than two decades and I have been super satisfied with their service. Recently, Mr. Michael ********** installed our water heater and water treatment equipment. We shall used no other plumbing company except Benjamin Franklin and DeBord.   My 94 year oild mother lives by herself and was confused when she called this place. She meant to call another plumber but instead got a hold of "BFP". They quoted her $450 to check/ repair a defective toilet that wasn't filling properly. She told them to go ahead and they the service man did come out promptly. She called me about another matter and mentioned the $450 quote. I was appalled and told her to cancel the service call but she said the man was already there. She ended up paying him the full $450 with her credit card and he gave her a "receipt" with a hand written list of what he did. He said he was out of printed tickets. The note didn't break down labor or supplies- just gave the total. I'm not sure if this outfit preys on elderly or just everyone! I'm no plumber but could have done the same work in a half hour for less than $50 material cost from any hardware. He replaced the fill valve, flapper, handle and supply line. I understand the need to recover the trip expense and make a reasonable profit, but unless the going rate for plumbers is about $700/ hour I'd say this place is a royal rip off

  I'm sorry you feel this way ***** Your mom did call a professional company that drive $60,000 trucks that come to her fully stocked and ready to fix almost anything and our techs are some of the best plumbers available which also cost money, your mother was quoted book price before doing any work, we waived the travel fee and gave her a $29 off coupon since she said to go ahead with the work, our tech was there for over an hour making the professional repair using high quality parts, not from a big box store and gave her a warranty on the repair. Like you said "you are no plumber." Again I am sorry that you don't see the value of our service.
