My experience was so upsetting that although I normally only post reviews on google reviews, I literally created a yelp account just to post a review there, and now I'm posting here as well.
TL;DR-- They blatantly lied to us about being in our insurance network, blindsided us with a huge bill in the mail, dodged my father's attempts to communicate with them for over a week, and finally took absolutely no responsibility for their dishonesty.
When I talked to the receptionist about making an appointment as a new customer, my father and I double-checked and triple-checked with her that they accepted our dental insurance. She assured us they did, which was great because it turns out I had three cavities (pro-tip: when planning an extended trip to foreign country, check if they fluoridate their water, because that can affect your teeth) that needed to be filled. We paid the copay and trusted that our insurance would cover the rest, as we were assured multiple times that they were in our insurance network.
Spoiler alert, they weren't! We were blindsided in the mail with a huge bill for the rest of the cost. My father reached out multiple times to them to try to resolve the situation, calling several times and even going in-person a couple times before he finally was able to talk to someone about the bill. Ultimately, they begrudgingly gave him a small discount off the bill and gave an insincere apology, but still took absolutely no responsibility for blatantly lying to him about being covered by our insurance.
We were already planning on never going back to this dentist again because of an extremely rude and self-righteous dental hygienist, but the fact that they practically stole from us crosses a major line. As I said, we asked multiple times to ensure that they were in our insurance networked, and we accepted their assurances only to be hit with a surprise bill. They should be ashamed of themselves for having so little integrity and regard for their customers.
