I use to use this range, but the manager Jim was always rude to me so I let me membership expire and chose to drive further to another location. Unfortunately I had in the meantime transferred in a suppressor. There are some forms you need to fill out for the government in order to own one and I had a tough time with my paperwork, even though one of the employees gave me a sample form, I still thought I would mess it up. I was told if you mess up they will reject it and you have to start over. At the time the review of these were taking over 8 months so I didn't want to mess up. I asked Jim since he was the manager and should know how to do it to help and he refused. Instead he gave me the sample again. I wasn't asking him to fill it out for me, just guide me through it. Fast forward over one year later and I still don't have it. I ask the owner of ****** ****, great range, for help. He tells me what I need to do and sets me up with a Silencer Kiosk account. Next step is I have to get good old Jim to transfer my suppressor over to ****** ****, and ****** **** said they would pick it up no problem for me. I go to Jim at Select Fire and ask him to transfer it, he informs me it's a different form and could take 6-8 weeks. I was fine with that after all I waited over one year. I ask Jim do I need to do anything else or sign anything before I leave, he said no. It's now been well over 6 months and I've stopped several times and I always get the runaround from Jim, "it takes time", "yes, it's been sent". I decided last week 3/13/23 to call and demand proof that it was sent, and the truth came out. Today, 3/20/23 I finally got a call and was told they never sent the paperwork, but will send it out today. The woman was nice, but the fact remains that Jim, the manager at Select Fire bold face lied to me several times when he said the paperwork was sent in. The AFT will find out about this as well. My advice is to stay far away from Jim and Select Fire.

The original paperwork was completed for the customer back in 2021. The customer picked up the paperwork along with instructions on how to complete his paperwork. The competing of the paperwork is the sole responsibility of the customer. The customer states that he did not know how to complete the paperwork which involved his Trust. He should have then contacted the attorney who did his Trust if he had questions. An issue of transfer payment also needed to be settled up. Paperwork can be challenging when involving Trusts and Additional Party Forms. The customer has settled the balance owed and a form was completed to have the transfer to another FFL. Conflicting stories of interactions between the customer and staff have been documented. It is always unfortunate when conflicts arrive however Select Fire Training Center followed protocol and has in no way violated any laws set by the ATF. Employees can not give legal advise regarding completion of Form 4s.
