  We had Keener Heating out to our fraternity house in Athens twice in the last couple of weeks. Once was a 600 am emergency and the other for a complete maintenance on our system. We could not be happier. James was prompt, he followed up with excellent communication and the work performed was well done. He was priced very fairly for the work done. He will be our go to company for all our HVAC needs in the future.

  100% recommend fully. I have used keener twice now for hvac repairs. On both occasions he has been out in a timely manner and diagnosis' the problem quickly and fixes it effectively. Always knowledgeable and willing to explain what and why he is doing something. Makes recommendations without seeming “sales” pushy. His prices are in my experience cheaper than other competitors while offering the same if not better service. I have used several different hvac contractors and by far keener has been my best and will forever be my go to hvac guy. I will trust him to handle my maintenance and repair needs and when the day comes for a new install he will be my guy. Thank you for the work you do Keener and I hope this review will help others to see how good you are.

  We have owned and operated our cabin business in Hocking Hills for over 20 years. We hired James K***** to quote and later install a new condenser and air handler at one of our cabins. James was prompt to respond to requests and got our unit switched out in a timely fashion. We did not have any issues during the installation and were eager to use James for future projects. It was when the bill arrived that it was realized we were being charged for items we were not expecting. There was a charge of $137 in welding supplies and $263 or 5% for the use of required refrigeration tools needed for the job. After, further investigation with other experienced technicians it was clarified that this is not a normal practice. We also were not made aware of these charges prior to the installation. When questioning this invoice / charge I was sent an invoice for $10K for a "Heating & Cooling Consolation Fee" if I were to send "One more e-mail after a 7/8/22" date. To add insult to injury. Not more than a month later the duct work that was not properly fitted to the new air handler, separated. The taped connection was a lesser quality installation and would be more of a temporary application. The correct way of doing this would be to have used metal duct work fastening the duct to the air handler. When this separation occurred, it left a gaping hole at the air handler. We then had to pay a separate heating and air conditioning contractor to come out and properly install metal duct work, fastening it the way it should have been done the first time. This extra work was an added $500 expense that we were not compensated for. I would personally not recommend James K***** of Keener Heating and Cooling for any future Heating and Cooling Work at your property.

  Well Keith, I am sorry you feel this way. I just saw your picture and was about to say it was covered under the two year labor warranty. Just let me know when I can come in to fix. But you never called to tell me. As with change outs, the tape can come apart as the ductwork is not as clean as new in a crawl space. I charged you $650.00 to change out a condenser from one cabin to another. You had a bad compressor on the one cabin, but a good outdoor unit on the one that had a bad evaporator. You wanted to pay $200. I gave in, and agreed trying to keep the peace. And about the $10,000 invoice that was never a invoice. Your staff had questioned my work, and you had expected me to educate you, and your staff for free. Well my school was not free. I only sent that to stop the exchanges as there were way too many. I should have stuck with my original price as you don't understand I saved you a lot of money. So as I read your response again. You paid $500.00 to add tape? If I was informed of I would have done for free. The new unit that has the same CFM as the old unit but it was a wider cabinet with a VFD motor that your staff never does not understood.

  I can only do all I can to please all my customers. And I feel I did all I could do with this one. Saving this one 1200.00 easy for a new compressor was not enough.

  *** is hands down the best of the best. Hes honest, trustworthy and genuinely cares about his customers. Weve had him out a few times for our heating/cooling needs and he has done excellent each time. Super informative, easy to communicate, reasonably priced. We will always trust Keener Heating and Cooling.
