I hired Chris to remove an approx 100 ft tall oak tree in Sept 2022. Chris told us that the job would take 1 day. The crew showed up at 1030 am instead of the scheduled 9am with a bucket truck, a bobcat, & a wood chipper. The crew consisted of 3 guys & by the end of the day, there was still a tree with 3/4 of the crown missing. The next day the crew consisted of 4 guys with the same equipment. By the end of this day, the remaining crown was removed & a trunk of about 40 ft long was felled over onto my neighbors front yard. (The tree was shared on both of our properties) The height of the stump was about 40 inches tall, 51 inches wide & 70 inches long. No one from K & C Tree & Landscape showed up on the 3rd day as this large tree trunk sat on the front lawn of my neighbor's property. On the 4th day, K & C arrived with 4 guys & they started to cut the trunk into large rings that the bobcat could load into a trailer. At lunchtime, I inquired with the crew if the large stump would be cut down closer to the ground & their response was "Yes". The owner, Chris, by this time had arrived & stated that if he was here on day one, the job would of been done after 1 day. The job had to be halted because the bobcat had punctured the tire of the trailer & that they were waiting to get the tire fixed. I left & came back home about 3 1/2 hrs later. The trunk had been removed but the stump still remained. At this point, Chris informed us that job was complete. the stump was as close to ground as possible & that he wanted to be paid for the job. We said that the contract was not completed because of the stump & had offered to pay 85%of the invoice & then pay the remaining 15% when the stump was removed. This was not acceptable to Chris, he demanded to be paid & wouldn't leave without the payment. We paid him the 100% & then had to find someone else to remove the stump. K & C was clearly ill-equipped for this large job. I would not recommend this company.
