    I hired Chad LaBello for slate roof repair & replacement, heat tape replacement on the roof, repointed chimney, attic insulation, three rubber-sheathed porch roofs, installation of six new basement windows, and basement sealing/waterproofing. While his team was always cheerful, enthusiastic, and polite, I'm not confident that all of them are skilled. Chad himself is a fast talker who - once the job is finished and paid for - is not quick to respond to any follow up issues with their work. At one point, he refused to take a check and requested $9K in cash because "the bank gets suspicious when I cash so many checks and they'll make me wait until it clears and I can't get materials for the job without cash". (Not if you operate a reputable business, they don't!) I had to request a written estimate for additional work and he basically just scribbled it on a piece of paper. I was left with a huge mess in the basement, damaged & missing items, the newly installed insulation came down in the attic after a few months, and the heat tape has repeatedly come down (even in the summer). I paid Chad a tremendous amount of money for this work, and instead of receiving professionalism, quality workmanship, and the peace of mind I'd hoped for, I find myself beyond irritated and highly frustrated at the lack of response and follow-through with regard to ongoing issues. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend his business.
