I got in touch with Shane Alcott of Alcott construction in August 2024 regarding a small porch of mine and a larger one that needed work. He quoted me four thousand for both porches and submitted plans on the small porch to the city of Rochester, N.Y. Plans were approved, he asked for $2000 on August 30th, 2024 for materials and to submit a permit to the city. I sent the money through ************* He told me he was working on it. But my tenant and manager said nothing had been done. The city inspector even called and told me that. We traveled to Rochester and ended up fixing the larger porch ourselves. We asked Shane to come by but he never showed. After that, Shane continued to lie about work he'd done, wouldn't send pictures when asked and making excuses about why he couldn't finish. Personal tragedy, someone else was working on the house near to where he was working or because it snowed were his excuses. He was hired in the summer! Around December 2024, he just quit contacting us altogether. I've asked for my money back multiple times with no response.

Shane called from the business and says that he has done work, but since there was lead paint he could not do further work. A 50% refund was offered but the consumer has not contacted the business regarding the offer.
