Orthopedic Associates of Dutchess County ***************************************************************************** TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE: I had an appointment with Dr. ******** They waited until my appointment this morning to tell me they don't take my insurance. They had me scheduled until September. I get there 8:10 am. today 8/15/2024, and ***** at the front desk stated that they just found out yesterday that they no longer accept my insurance. I asked why wasn't I called? Someone should've called me. I'm in pain, need these services, an no one called? Then the black gentleman interrupted and said he made the calls. I stated, you didn't call me. His reply? There were too many people to call. EXCUSE ME? He had attitude & could care less. No. You pull the appointments for the following day, check the insurance, and then make calls, email, or text. Or he could've done a query, and got a list of the clients with my insurance, them crosscheck that, with the appointments for today. Not wait until I get there, to then say, you had too many people to call. That too was a lie, because I requested to speak to the manager, *********************, who also confirmed that there weren't many to call with my type of insurance. So, because this gentleman didn't do his job, I pay the price? The painful struggle to get there, go up that ramp, and he had the nerve to have an attitude, as if I disturbed his day. Are you serious? No. That's poor customer service and follow-up. Then to lie to me? I used to do their jobs and worked in **, where? In the medical field. I knew the lie the minute I heard it. He confirmed that there were simply too many people to call & he simply didn't care. So, thanks for nothing. Never again. The manger stated she'd speak to her staff, but I have a funny feeling, that the gentleman that didn't do his job? This isn't his first careless move and they'll be more, because he doesn't seem to care. Highly disappointing.

I called Orthopedic Associates of Dutchess County on March 21, 2024 hoping to get an appointment in their *************** for a fractured ankle. The individual I spoke with told me there were no immediate openings. She then had me hold on and made a call the the ********************* She then informed me that they would see me there. I went the next day. I arrived at 10:30 am. I was told to come back because there would be no doctor until 1pm. I went back at 1:15 pm. I went to check in and informed the girl that this is a workers' comp case. She was glad to see I had the information needed. She left and went to the back for quite some time. When she returned she told me that I don't have an x-ray (she must be new and not realize that x-rays are taken quite often at an Orthopedic place), why didn't I go to the same hospital where I visited the **** and then stated they don't take Workers' Comp. I stated that it says so on the website and she sure acted like they did when I first went in. I asked her to show me that in writing and she stated its a new policy. Another worker from the back came out and said there is no doctor to see me. Obviously, that was not true. So I said "You are refusing to treat me?" and her answer was make an appointment. There professionalism was definitely lacking today!
