I contacted Spectrum Behavioral to find a new PNP after mine retired. I informed the company of my insurance plan was told that it was accepted. I had been a client of Spectrum from about 2012-2015 aand neverr had an insurance issue. I had an initial evaluation from Spectrum and that individual was under my insurance plan. I was then assigned a provider through Spectrum. A couple I called to schedule and an appointment. I was informed that I had an outstanding balance of over $700 as I had not met my deductible. After much aggrevation, I finally received clarification from billing. The provider that I was assigned to did not participate in my insurance; thus the $700 charge. I feel that it was irresponsible and unethical to assign a provider with the knowledge that I was only looking for one who accepted my insurance. I'm retired and now on Medicare. Seven hundred dollars is more than a big deal! Shame on Spectrum!
