If I could give 0 stars I absolutely would. From the very beginning they couldn't unclog a drain. Ended up spending a total of $16,500 because they led me to believe my entire sewage line had to be replaced. Should have had other plumbers come out but it was an emergency. After they conned me out of that money they tried telling me underneath my house under the slab needed replacing too. FOR $20K!!! Had a couple of companies come out and they said they could replace underneath my house for less than $10k BUT it didn't NEED replacing. The only positive thing that happened with the whole thing is they cut down a tree they said I needed to cut down before they came out. but when they let the tree drop they destroyed my patio and firepit. So less than 6 months into owning the home they managed to use scare tactics to spend money unnecessarily and put my family in a tight spot. AND they didn't even care, they just said it needed to be done blah blah blah. Worst company ever. Absolutely taken advantage of.

Roto Rooter would be happy to have a conversation with the homeowner but has never been given that opportunity. After reviewing the complaint and reviewing this project in detail. Roto Rooter has verified video of both before and after the project completed at this residence. The before video showing the sewer line needing to be replaced due to severe scaling and trench rot. Roto Rooter found further scaling and trench rot inside the home, under the concrete once we opened up the sewer line we were contracted to replace. It is always standard procedure to descale, and camera inspect the line upon opening it up to ensure we have provided the best permanent solution to a homeowner that we can. The remainder of the sewer that was not replaced is compromised and will need to be replaced in the near future. No where throughout this project that was completed on September 27th was it brough up that a patio of firepit was damaged. It wasn't until this complaint (not even a phone call) 5 months later that I am now hearing about it. Unfortunately, Roto Rooter was not contacted by the homeowner to resolve any of these issues and would be more than happy to sit down with the homeowner as well as come out on site to assess and re inspect the line to show the homeowner his sewer line and what we see. As always, it is the homeowners right to either have service performed or not to have service performed and we at Roto Rooter strive to ensure we are presenting each customer with a full view of their sewer system.

Did not contact back in over 5 months because of other necessary housing repairs and wedding planning. We had underneath the home inspected by several companies across Rochester and Syracuse, NY who all offered trenchless repair for half of what roto rooter asked but they all said the same thing, that it didn't need to be repaired in its current state. I was shown the outside line and received pictures and confirmed it did need to be replaced by other companies. I just saw the patio since the snow had melted and leaves picked up, the firepit I can live with being broken(it was a cheap metal one). The siding being scraped like crazy during the excavation and backfill process is an eyesore, but an easy fix, but again shouldn't have been an issue. I never doubted the work that they did do, but I am grateful for the lesson learned with dealing with roto rooter. Which is to always get more than 1 quote for a job. As a first time homeowner, I am glad to be shown that early in the home owning process.

Roto Rooter was contracted to do work for this homeowner on 1/31/2024 almost a year prior to this review. Roto Rooter presented a proposal to clear the clog open up the drain line and the homeowner signed off on the work to be done. We have before and after pictures to show that our work was completed properly. We will take the feedback on how long the project took into consideration in the future.

Did not do the job and charged us. Another plumbing firm did the job for half the money. We are looking for a refund of half what we paid them. After two emails they have not contacted us.

Roto Rooter did work for this homeowner and were unable to open the line. Due to this, we have processed a refund to the homeowner. We also reviewed the camera inspection of the sewer line and found multiple separations, trench rot throughout as well as scaling within the sewer line. We have determined this is the cause for continuous backup and do recommend replacement of the compromised sewer line. This issue has been resolved with the homeowner.

Do not use this company! It cost $1100 dollars for them to come out and not snake drain properly. They started with the upsell from the minute they walked in the door. Not sure what they did but it made the problem worse. I called a reputable plumber who was able to fix the issue in about a half an hour. After roto rooter couldn’t fix the problem they sent me a quote for $9900 . This was a simple snaking of the drain and a flush. They were only interested in replacing all my pipes for a ridiculous price not even knowing what the problem was. Again DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY !
