Penguin Book Writers is definitely a scam organization that takes advantage of new authors. Their publishing service agreement stated that for a fee of $1,999, the author would receive an extensive list of services. However, once the payment is received, the author finds out that the $1,999 doesn't pay for most of the items listed and they will end up charging you thousands of dollars for services that should have been covered. The list of their shady, disingenuous practices is too long to describe here so I will just cite an example. A Penguin Book Writers' representative requested that I pay $1,700 to have my book included in the Los Angeles Times Book Festival in April 2024. I later learned that Penguin Book Writers never even registered to participate in the LA Times Book Festival. I requested a refund but was told that another book fair would be held in ********, ** at the ****************************'s event on Nov. 7 - 8. However, when I contacted officials at the ****************************, they were shocked that I had been asked to pay $1,700 to have my book presented when the cost was only $350! The officials also confirmed that Penguin Book Writers had not registered to participate in the Syracuse event and that this appeared to have been a scam. Bottom Line: Do not get involved with the scam artists at Penguin Book Writers!

Horrible! I signed up for one price, they got all of my info then 2 days later I got a call that the initial sale was incorrect, even after hours of communication, it's about 2500 more. They work on your emotions, they lie and they are for the most part incredibly unprofessional. I had one person there out of the 7 who was good, *****, that's it. Horrible communication, prices are over the top then they try and get more out of you. A year later I'm still waiting for the job to be finished even though my book was written and given to them for editing on day one. I have been bullied by an obnoxious salesperson over and over until I had to disconnect here from my life. I've been given the run around many times, lied to, and completely taken advantage of. Yes, my book is published a year later and about 15k later with all the additional charges but the rest of my project is not and no one gets back to you. When they do they say "Oh I didn't get your email, it must have gone to spam. did you use the portal?" Even though we've communicated for a year via email and portal. I think they use the name assuming people will think they are the actual Penguin **************** but they are not. Most there don't speak clear English. do your research, they are frauds!
