After installing a new water pressure tank, I have been told by several other plumbers that I was basically robbed by you, charged about 2/3 more then what would be a fair price. After this replacement, the issue we originally called for, air in our lines, was still there. You then quoted us a price of $2000. to find our well, 10% more then the $200. we paid a well guy, to find. You also quoted an additional price of $11,000. to replace our pump and raise the well cap to above ground, again, priced well above the actual price weve paid of $4300. Needless to say, were avoiding your calls to schedule the routine maintenance service weve paid for because, frankly, I dont trust any company that inflates prices ridiculously above that of the average plumbing professional. I have no intention of using your service and I will always steer away anyone who asks, from your business.

In my opinion this is a terrible company to do business with. They are way more expensive than any of their competitors. Their communication both internally and with customers is severely lacking. They don't seem to be knowledgeable about the products they sell and they will hard sell you on everything. I won't contact them again for anything!

We hired Astar to come replace our low water cut off and while there to only give us an estimate they sold us a service plan. Seemed like a good idea at the time. Made arraignments for them to come back and actually replace it as well as do the annual cleaning. While here for that they made a mess of the floor with oil and soot and tried but not too hard to clean it up. Left the floor a mess. A few weeks go by and were down by the boiler and notice a drip coming from the air vent bleeder valve. So we called them to come out and fix it. The service manager shows ** in a small car with barely any tools. He comes in assesses the situation and sees that that air vent bleeder valve needs to be replaced. He goes out to his car to write up an estimate and shows it to my wife. The estimate comes in between $700 and $900 depending on what else he finds while doing the job. ****** that it will take up to 2 hours. Says h*** email the estimate and the office will call tomorrow to set up a time to come replace it. No email and No phone call. I bought the part myself and replaced it in less then 10 minutes. Actual cost of the repair, $13.32. I strongly recommend using a small time plumber and not one of these companies that just wanna sell you stuff you dont need. They are only trying to get your money.

Astar was an absolute catastrophe from the moment I sent them money until they finally finished the project four and a half months later (with mediocre results at best). They sold me a contract they weren't licensed to execute (they're not licensed in ****** county). I specifically named my county and the weirdness of my address being in a different one. Rather than do the responsible thing of telling me of their mistake so that I could make an informed decision about how to proceed, they gave me nebulous excuses about how there was a snag with the electrical permit and that it was going to take a little more time. They were quick to get some things installed (so I couldn't walk away from the contract?), but then were unresponsive and would only give me a runaround on when things would happen and never answered my questions fully (not to mention nearly losing my rebate window as they tried to file with the wrong electric company; again information I'd given them).Their initial timing estimate left me with the choice of shlepping diesel for a few weeks to keep my hot water running or dealing with 100+ gallons of fuel oil when the job was done, so I schlepped. No biggie if they'd had hit their early target of two weeks a manageable hassle at their late target of six, but was an absolute nightmare across the three months they left me hanging while they figured out how to run a business. I spent hours and hundreds of dollars on diesel, firewood, and heaters (not to mention a giant electric bill) and took roughly $1200 off my $43000 bill, which nowhere near compensates me for the hassle. The quality of work was OK, but nothing to be proud of. They failed to tell me details of my system design that would have majorly impacted my decision. They refused to communicate about anything except by phone (no paper trail), and with no warning demanded the $23,000 balance on their last day. They pitch professionalism, charge for it, but don't deliver.Avoid Astar
