Even after reading the reviews regarding how staff treat their customers, we were still totally psyched to go here and have this experience. With that being said, I purchased tickets for my party of four (which was a major process) And, then we received a berating text "on blast" with specific names from people who bought tickets but who didn't fill out the "registration" form (with the same information)- or be threatened not to be admitted entrance (obviously with NO REFUND) Upon arriving, we waited in line to go through a slight security check. While standing there a staff member called out names of people who still had not completed their form. One rudely stated to a man, "If I wanted your opinion I would have asked, I just want your completed form."When it was our turn to go through a "security check," with the owner, Sharon. We had to empty our pockets. When asked if I had a phone, I mentioned my husband had mine and then the owner rudely said, "YOUR pockets, anything else, have you been drinking, where have you traveled from, I know you have been drinking, I smell alcohol on your breath." I was taken aback, as I had not been drinking (one because I had not and secondly this was a rule of theirs in order to go in) I stated I had not and she insisted that I had because she could smell it on my breath- then tried to backtrack and said well then you must have used hand sanitizer or something before coming up here. I'm not sure what my facial expression was, but the people in my party were just as surprised by her accusatory round of interrogation. And, even though they mention an evil entity, Raymond, walks the halls; the only evil presence there is the owner, Sharon-very unwelcoming to say the least. I'm glad I got a chance to go- however, I would never go back unless there is a different owner.

There website is full of misleading lies. It lead me to believe that I, a 24-year-old could bring my 17-year-old brother with me on a tour as long as I had parental consent and then alter I bought tickets, I received an incredibly email stating that I had to be “of parental age”. That is an incredibly unclear definition but apparently it means I wasted my money.

I highly recommend you DON'T go to the Asylum, and if you do beware of the owner Sharon, what a terrible woman. Right off the bat she was argumentative with people during check in. She took everything from us, including the salt, crystal and sage I brought with me for my protection, she was very angry I even brought it. The whole tour itself was admittedly incredible and an amazing experience. I had many paranormal experiences that I'll never forget. After the tour my group and I collected our stuff and went outside to wait for our ride that never came. We were stranded there in the cold an hour from home. One of the other workers there let us back in while we tried to find another ride. Sharon did not like that. She was angry that we wanted to wait there for an hour for our ride even though we told her we'd wait outside. She just wanted to close up and leave. She then went off on us, screaming, threatening to call the cops because apparently we were "trespassing", and she shamed us for not having a ride home even though that wasn't her problem, we understand our transportation plan wasn't the best, she had no right to shame us like we were kids. I should also add she'd forgotten to give something back to me, my sage spray, if I hadn't gone back inside I would've left without it, but she refused to give it back while she yelled at us. While we were leaving she started cursing us out, which we responded to likewise. I can't help but think of this as my first run in with a real "Karen" in the wild, how ironic it is that she owns an insane Asylum.

the lady that owns this is rude and a fraud, the haunted suit she is displaying is a phony, I sent a freedom of information act request to the New York Stae Police and received a report that the suit was in fact stolen and she has a phony one up claiming it's the original. she made the police report herself. She also threw my group of 8 people out because one of our friends was pregnant and brought a bolted of water in, the owner saw her with the bottle and went absolutely ballistic on a vulnerable Pregeant women who needed water, she claimed that they sell water, and we are sneaking it in, and we had to purchase their water for a cost. She then ripped the bottled water from our pregnant friend's hand and whipped it out the door. We told her you are wrong for doing that and she then called the police and said we were assaulting her; I am a police officer, and she was absolutely making a false report and I said if you are being assaulted how can you make a phone call during an active assault, we waited for the Sheriff to show up and he said this lady is nuts and his supervisor told them not to respond to any more of her calls.

The Owner of this establishment is absolutely the rudest person I have ever encountered for someone running a business. She will not allow 2 people in our group to attend even after the 1 has completed her quarantine for COVID. The 2nd 1 didn’t even have COVID and saying they can’t come either. Of course no refund or letting them change the date. She stated if we all showed up all 4 of us would not be allowed entry. I understand COVID rules and guidelines. I am a nurse I follow it everyday, but her responses to emails were totally uncalled for, rude and just down right ignorant. People don’t waste your money she will find ANY reason to say you can not attend and still keep your $$.

Take heed - There are countless horrible 1 star reviews out there for this place, and it has nothing to do with the building, but all to do with the owner Sharon. There were a couple people in my group that have been coming here for a decade, and knew she was mentally unstable and downright horrible, but were always able to side step it until this past Saturday night. About an hour into our ghost hunt, she tracked us down and busted into the room SCREAMING at us mindlessly, dropping F-bombs and other obscenities. She was screaming that one of her employees smelled alcohol on us, and that we needed to leave immediately! We were shocked...we are all in our 30's and were all extremely respectful and CLEARLY sober for the entire time we'd been there. I calmly stated that we had dinner 4 hours ago, and that some of us had 1 beer with that dinner (and we literally had 1 each..4 hours ago..). This was stupid, should've lied, you can't reason with someone that mentally unhinged. Over the next 10 minutes she continued to scream obscenities at us without anyone else getting a word in. Because I was the one who said something about dinner, she singled me out, advancing towards me aggressively and telling me that I ruined everyone's night with a finger in my face...ME?? I thought, I'M the one ruining everyone's night? No ma'am, that would be you. She proceeded to tell us all that we couldn't drive home because we were all drunk! And that she "******* HATES ALL OF US FOR DISRESPECTING HER AND HER BUSINESS!!". The only one disrespecting that business is her, she is a loud-mouthed, over grown child prone to temper tantrums and is clearly not taking meds that she desperately needs. We were nothing but calm and polite as she continued to berate us with insults and foul language, while escorting us back to the entrance. I'm sad to say that I will not be going back to RHA until it inevitably changes owners, and I would advise anyone/everyone to do the same.

The owner of the building is the up most disrespectful women I have ever spoken with in my life. She refused to let me get a word in on the phone when she called me, she said she didn't have time to deal with this. I had a stroke and my son was going to attend with his stepmother and Sharon the owner turned into a Karen and refused my son entry, I was refunded my money thank goodness She said that she would lose her insurance if he wasn't with myself or his father complete bs because my son was there back in 2019 with a friends mother. So in what ever case she then sent my son a nasty email saying that he is band there again until he turns 18. All because he was trying to go with his step mother.
