Looks nice--it's not--not if you need any kind of medical care, compassion, consideration--STAY AWAY.

This rehab is horrible. At one point a new manager took over and immediately stopped all narcotic medication across the board without even entering the building. This left the nurses to deal with the side effects and complaints. This was extremely dangerous and could have had deadly circumstances. I was suffering from withdrawal along with dealing with a woman to the left of me swearing at the top of her lungs all night long. The woman on the right of me had Family Feud on 24/7. It was so loud I could play along. And the alarms were constantly not being answered. One aide would hangout in the recreation area talking on the phone to his girlfriend throughout a double shift. The other aides were nowhere to be found. I would get in my wheelchair and check to see if I could help the other patients. I wasn’t able to help in most cases. But at least they felt that they were not completely being ignored. I don’t know if the water was locked up but I was not allowed to get some myself. There was never a pitcher of water for anyone and I would have to ask several times and would get half a little plastic cup of water. I would look forward to getting medication so I could have water to drink. The food was disgusting and inedible. Example: a purple square piece of salmon, 1/8” thick and hard as a rock. I really feel sorry for the residents that have to eat it every day. If you didn’t finish your dinner by the time the aides stop delivering them then you were stuck looking at it all night long. I was one of the only patients that wanted my door closed. However, it didn’t stop anyone from barging in unannounced. I never thought I would need to teach respectability to the employees. The nurses, physical therapists and the social worker were outstanding. I will publish this in reviews of your business with hopes that someone else may be spared this experience.

September 20, 2023 To: Georgia W****, Business Manager To: Noam S****, Financial Coordinator Cooperstown Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing To: ****** ******, Esq. There is no reason why I should be responsible for the $2,800 you say I owe you. Georgia, you indicated that ******** sent me a form that needed to be returned within 3 months of leaving the rehab. You told me they sent it the last week in May. I left rehab two and one half months before that. Perhaps you should have made sure I received it and returned it within the 2 weeks I was given to return it. If you are so eager for your money why didn’t you contact me in February, March, April, May, June, July or August? You had a lawyer contact me with a threatening letter and then you yourself contacted me with the very first bill I have ever received. Both letters arrived this month, September 2023. Up until now I was not aware that I owed you any money. Those were in the form of certified mail requiring a signature. I was in the rehab in February 2023. Better yet, you should have had me fill out the form while I was still in rehab. There were so many forms I filled out while I was there. You told me that ******** contacted me several times. That is a lie. Diane at Community ******** said they do not do that! Georgia, you never contacted me once. Not once! The only income I have is my individual ******** payment. Between taxes, insurance and the average oil bill of over $600.00 a month in the winter I cannot afford to pay you anything. You screwed up! Although I shouldn’t have to or can’t afford to pay you anything, I will pay you $5.00 a month in good faith. Sincerely, ***** ******

I'd give no stars if It would allow me. My friend went in there on a Friday night. She wasn't seen by the doctor until today which is Tuesday the following week, that's 4 days. She hasn't eaten anything because the food is mush and disgusting and they put her on a liquid diet, she's there for rehab not the nursing facilities. The nurse on duty had no idea why she was in there and it took 3 days for dressing on her wound to be changed. The "disposable" pillows are not disposed of, they are washed and reused. I had to have the nurse bring in extra pillow cases to cover up the disgusting, peeling apart pillow. Nobody communicates with each other, so when you call to follow-up they literally have no idea why you're calling. If you want to go somewhere and be ignored this is the place for you. And her "rehab" didn't start until yesterday. Ridiculous.
