I had reached out to ***************** in April regarding installing some sprinklers on my property. He gave me a quote of $2500 and said it would be done in about 2 days. I should have known it was too good to be true by how low the bid was, but he was friendly enough and seemed knowledgable about irrigation. The week before he showed up in May, he informs me that I will also need to rent a trencher for the day ($400) and there will be an additional cost for the materials. ($4000). Reluctantly, I agreed because I had tree seedlings being delivered that week and needed to put them in the ground and water them. My dad and I took care of running the 3' trench for the main line while **** took care of sprinkler lines. When he was doing the installation of the sprinkler lines, he was careless about running the laterals straight. I now have a bunch of wavy irrigation lines buried in my fields, making it impossible to modify the soil without damaging them. His vibratory plow is from the 80's and broke down regularly throughout the process. At one point, my father needed to reconstruct its carburetor which took about 2-3 hours. On the first day he insisted to be paid half in cash ($3000) and refused to provide me with receipt of payment. The total time spent doing the install was about 6 days. On day 4 **** wanted me to pay more money to him, even though the job was incomplete. When I informed him that I had no intent on paying him more money until the job was finished, he became beligerent, shouting it was time for me to "pay up big." His reasoning was that he had spent way more time on this job than he expected and needed to pay his guys.**** returned the following day and apologized for his unprofessional behavior. He finished sprinkler heads and the system is able to run, but has an issue with automation. I paid him another $3000. He claimed he would "honor his commitment" and fix the issue but never did. It is now November and I will be using another irrigation company.
