Do not waste your money with this company. We had 5 different policies with this company and had been paying for over a year. We had several things done in our home. According to their policy and the (we record all phone conversations -but later cannot find them) person on the other line everything we had done was covered. Once we made the claims, a few days later they call us and tell us that they cannot anyone to come out and work on our problems and ask us to find our own. We did and had everything repaired and sent in the invoices only to have them return and say that our claims were denied. Mostly because their policy didn't cover these services.Review fromDenice L

THIS COMPLANY IS A NIGHTMARE TO DEAL WITH. THEY RAISE PRICES WITHOUT ANY NOTIFICATION. UNCOOPERATIVE WHEN CONTACTING THEM. I CANCELLED THE SERVICE AND THEY ARE STILL BILLING ME FOR THE FULL MONTH AND IT WAS ONLY TWO DAYS INTO THE NEW BILLING CYCLE.Review fromSherri P

I have not used them yet for service. Just had difficulty getting through ordering the service to the point I had to cancel and just go online and order what I wanted myself. They had a promotion, so I called the company to order using the promotion number. However, I don't like monthly bills and wanted to pay it in full. I tried 3 times to get it paid in full, but they didn't do it. So, I canceled before I even used it and received my cancellation notice on 4/29/25. Today, 5/19/25, they took $212.76 out of my account for the service I cancelled. When I called, the supervisor, "****", says the system took it but also issued a refund that I have to wait for 2-3 weeks. I told ****, people program systems, so don't blame it on the system. He showed no sympathy for the predicament that I am in as I told him I have other bills that the money was supposed to be applied to. Now, I have to wait 2-3 weeks for something I didn't authorize to be paid. This is why I don't like giving companies my card number. They take what they want. Here is the real kicker, they told me I was getting a deal with the $212.76. However, I went online and ordered what I wanted on May 1st for $99 for the year. Stop playing games!Review fromKeisha K

This company does not deserve any stars! They have a contract to advertise with ******************************* departments, in many cities, offering homeowners protection against costly repairs for water and sewer line repairs. They actually do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to diagnose the problem and instruct sub-contracted companies to simply snake the line. They argue that the issue was resolved, yet a plumber is needed at my house every 2-3 months! ABSOLUTELY OUTRAGEOUS!! This is such a scam and the City of ******** is complicit in allowing this to go on and likely makes money from American Water Resources.Review fromJeffrey P

I had a water leak in my home. The company said they will not diagnose, locate, or cut into any surface to resolve the leak. Ninety percent of all plumbing is inside the walls. What good is this coverage if they won't go into the walls? In addition to the $50 charge to activate a claim with AWR,, you'll be out an additional $100 service charge contacting a plumber to locate and open up the surface for American Water Resources to perform the repair. What's the point? I cancelled my policy, not worth it in my opinion. **************** was very helpful and did not hassle me when cancelling.Review fromJay M

What a horrible company to deal with. I have in-line plumbing and sewer protection with them. Ive been paying for a few years. Called on Monday for a clogged drain. After 20 minutes of trying to explain its not a leak but a clog. They finally said they would have a company come and look at it. They gave me the name and phone number of the company. Nobody showed up and nobody called. On Tuesday I called the company they were supposed to send out and the owner told me that he told them I was out of his area and also he quit doing business with them due to bad Practices. I called back. They said somebody would get back with me. Nobody ever got back with me on Tuesday. Today is Wednesday and I called them and they said they would expedite my claim and gave me a number of the company that would come out today. I called that number it ends up It is a moving company not a plumber. What horrible customer service!American Water Resources, LLC

If you have sewage coming up into your basement, AWR is willing to send someone to snake out the line. But they will absolutely NOT help do anything to diagnose the problem or resolve it.American Water Resources, LLC

I was previously with "**********************" which I think turned into or got bought out by American Water Resources in the last year or two. Previously under Pivotal I couldn't speak better about the service. Since the change its been extremely frustrating. I'm actually currently on hold right now writing this. Last year it took weeks and multiple no-call-no-shows before our heating unit got repaired. Right now I called on the 29th after discovering one of our AC units was not blowing cold air, had the appointment scheduled for the 30th. Another no-call-no-show. Called back this morning and was told the appointment was cancelled with no explanation as to why. They said they had to call me back with the new appointment information "within 15 minutes". I waited 1.5 hours and called back which is the current hold im on. The gentleman i'm speaking to said he sees nothing about my call from 1.5 hours ago.
