    I have been paying property taxes in my town's municipality in Belleville, ** for some time now and came across a leaflet that a company can help in paying my home repairs under Belleville Home Improvement Program. I read the brochure and met the yearly income eligibility of 1 person. I signed into the website and downloaded the application of approximately 7 pages. I had to submit latest tax and water bill payment receipt, tax forms in the last 3 years, and a copy of current deed. After sending the required documents I received a letter stating I was not eligible due to my "maximum allowable asset limit of $220,995.00", my current home equity exceeded this for having $375,700.00. The brochure leaflet and application never stated this "Equity" amount maximum listed. It is not the fact that I was rejected with the program, but it is more that I have sent my personal and home information to these people and thinking the leaflet was legitimate in having posted in a municipality office. I think this is fraud and they should have stated every bit of information with allowable equity along with total income of household.
