The marketing copy from TurtleSkin is very deceptive. ‘I purchased the Fullcoverage Natural Plus gloves on sale through your website (order #1012). They arrived today used, with a variety of dirt and stains. I decided that maybe it would be fine anyway, so I might as well see if they would keep out small and large blackberry thorns, since they were already dirty, so I grabbed one cane and gave it a tentative pull. Then I picked thorns out of my skin as they’d gone right through. I have taken pictures so you can see the arrival condition. I don’t think these were listed as used on the website, just on sale. I need to return these gloves, please.‘ Reply: ‘We are sorry to hear that there was discoloration on the gloves you received. These are Close Out gloves and are not available for return or refund. I did check with my supervisor and we can send you a replacement pair. This glove style does not provide a high level of puncture protection, and is not recommended for the use of handling thorns.’ My reply: ‘I highly recommend the following statements on the gloves’ description should be changed if they aren’t actually good for puncture protection, as this is deceptive marketing: 1. These are gauntlet gloves that offer cut and puncture protection to the entire hand. 2. Made with our patented material these gloves offer full coverage cut and puncture resistance to the hand. 3. The gloves provide protection against all types of threats including needles, glass, and sharp tools. Presumably the vague description of ‘all types of threats’ includes something like thorns, seeing as both needles and glass are noted, and can be just as sharp and similarly sized.’ In the end, these are pretty pointless and a waste of money, not actually doing what the company says they will, and they won’t give you a refund (despite not saying they are apparently ineligible) even when they send you stained and used gloves from a listing for new ones (along with the deceptive marketing).
