I was very nervous at first to let my 7 month old husky puppy off leash, but SpotOn Fence totally did the trick! She is able to run around my 4 acres of land freely now! Totally worth the money! I definitely recommend it!

If you happen to read this, please heed my warning and do not buy this collar for your dog under any circumstances. You might as well set $1500 on fire. Every aspect of the collar and customer service is full of problems. I was only able to create one fence in 1.5 years because the collar malfunctions every time I try. The fence I did create is inaccurately enforced (my dog wanders outside of the “fence” with no warning tone or static correction). I live in an area with good cell service and I use other gps devices (including the vastly superior and MUCH cheaper Fi collar) without any issues. Worst of all, the customer service has been abysmal. They simply said they don’t service the collars, gave me no way to fix these problems, and even has the audacity to try and get me to spend another $500 to “upgrade” the collar. I say with all sincerity: avoid this company at all costs. This collar only makes your dog more unsafe. It sounds like such a good idea, but I am sad to say this is, without exaggeration, an entirely worthless object.

Thank you for your feedback. We’d like to note that we searched through our customer history for contact you’ve had with our team, and found only two times you had contacted us: first when requesting to return the product nearly six months after your initial purchase, and again two months ago to notate that you had a collar that had never worked and were looking for options. However, given the 3G shutdown that impacted the tracking functionality of your original collar, we wanted to make you aware of the upgrade options, as you had explicitly mentioned on the call you were looking for tracking functionality, and that simply was not an option based on the FCC shutdown of 3G. It is not a fact that we don’t service those collars, but the issues you were experiencing could not be fixed with a phone call. Many of our previous customers have taken advantage of the same $500 upgrade option we offered you at that point in time. While we understand that you were not satisfied with the offer, we did not expect to receive subsequent phone calls from your family members attempting to negotiate a better price on your behalf. While there are no privacy laws at direct work, we were uncomfortable attempting to negotiate prices with your mother on your behalf. We continue to stand behind the products and solutions we have offered our customers throughout our company’s lifetime.

Sadly, once again, the SpotOn service team is inventing a story here to not address the problems with the collar. I did not have “family members” calling the company on my behalf. My mother and I split the cost of this extremely expensive collar and the order was placed in her name and with her email address, so it seems reasonable that she should be able to discuss this matter with SpotOn, as I had told her I was not able to get any help from this company to address the myriad issues with the collar. This company had previously made false claims in replying to her review (claiming she had bought and tried to sell two collars; utter nonsense) and here they try to reframe my very legitimate complaints about the collar as some sort of an affront against their customer service team by my family. This is an amateurish and embarrassing tactic to sidestep acknowledging the major flaws to their product and their unwillingness to actually stand by this product in any other way than typing the words “we stand by the products and solutions we have offered.” When the only “solution” this company offers is a suggestion that I just throw away this 1500 dollar non-functioning collar and pay them 500 dollars for another collar, you know you are dealing with an unserious business that is doing everything it can to not stand behind the integrity of its product.

SpotOn fence is way two expensive and what to charge customers more for upgrades. I spent $2500 on two collars. One year later, they upgraded the collars. Cellular service was discontinued by the company for first generation collars. This means no tracking and no alerts. In order to keep the service, SpotOn wants an additional $500/collar to upgrade to the second generation collar. Find something cheaper with a company that will be off better service to their customers. Not to mention, the numerous GPS failure encountered. SpotOn is NOT so spot on after all.

We apologize for any confusion, but SpotOn was not responsible for the Generation 1 system's cell service deactivation. Those collars ran on 3G services, which were discontinued by the cell carriers in 2022, not SpotOn Fence. Knowing that customers were impacted by that 3G shutdown, we have been processing upgrade orders and contacting customers who had previously purchased the collar in an attempt to upgrade to the Generation 2 system, which runs on 4G service and does not have a planned sunset for many years.

I bought three collars from them after 6 months the first one split apart. They did send me a new collar. A year later the second collar split. apart. I called and they said they would look into it. I had spent $1,500 for each collar and two of the three broke. When they did contact me about the collar they said that it was no longer made, and it couldn't be fixed. They told me I could buy a new collar for $500. I am very disappointed to say the least. I would not recommend them.

Have called many times and used online chat to resolve issues with the collar. Instead of a refund for original collar, was told that the second generation would be much better. It takes 6-8 weeks for the collars to arrive and they start that at the date ordered. After the second collar arrived, had issues with pairing it to the app, customer service helped resolve that issue quickly. About a week in to having the new collar, my dogs takes off and we didn’t receive any notification that she had left the boundary, by the time we noticed, turned on tracking mode only to find that she was quite a way away from home. Contacted customer service again and Matt did great at trying to help locate but, on both ends showed the collar had no service. Paying around $1300 for a collar that doesn’t work in our area is unacceptable, being told that the new collar would work when it does not is unacceptable, having unreliable tracking when your slogan is about having a leash free, worry free collar is unacceptable. I would not ever recommend this collar for anyone that lives in the country who just wants a peace of mind about their dogs safety. Don’t let this company scam you in to thinking that your dog will be safe.
