Granite State *************************************************** which changed its name to Granite Edvance is a terrible organization that mismanaged my student loans. They compounded interest and caused such a disaster with my student loans that I had to pull my loans from the them and go with another loan servicer. One of the biggest issues is with GSM&R /Granite Edvance is their asinine deferment option and failure to offer what other loan servicers offer if you are a borrower who may face a layoff, or other situation. Over the years, I have spoken with many other borrowers who shared similar stories. I would never recommend them to any borrower. They are unscrupulous. The organization changed its name to Granite Edvance because they think it erases the truth of what they did. Not a chance. They failed, ripped off many borrowers and just think they can get borrowers to forget about the failures under the GSM&R name. Do yourself a favor and stay away from them. There are plenty of better options out there.
