I travel for work and it brought me to Wichita KS. I had a car rental booked since a week ago. I arrive to the airport, get to the rental car counter and National Car had cancelled my car! Now I am in a state for work with NO CAR! I had to walk to the hotel! I called and someone at the National 800 number was supposed to send in a help ticket and someone would call, no call back AT ALL. I get online and chat with someone that was completely useless and basically said we do have any cars. Really? National Car Rental overbooked cars and apparently I don't make the cut? Meanwhile I sit in a hotel and cannot visit all the job locations I am supposed to be at this week. I am an Emerald Club Member? Shouldn't that count for something? Why can't they get a car from a nearby rental place and bring it to me? I have always been a National Car Rental renter. I see that I am just a number. As I sat in the car rental lobby, other people came up and got a car. Why wasn't their car cancelled? Why didn't they send me a text, call me or email me? Why were they chosen over me to get a car? I need answers. I need a car. I honestly do not think an apology is enough. For years I never complain about the rental cars I've gotten. I never complained that a rental car had no gas, the car wasn't charged, the car smelled like marijuana, etc. But to not have a car and stuck in a state where I know no one is unacceptable and I cannot let it go. Am I to worry every time I rent a car if i have a car? Am I supposed to follow up and see if I have a car or not? I think National Car Rental should follow up with me. It is their business.
