A1 Appliance sold me broken appliances.
I bought a gold front-load Samsung washer and a white LG dryer for a good price. The dryer works great, but the washer was extremely loud during the spin cycle. After a few loads, the washer had moved 6 inches on concrete and started leaking water. Turns out both counterweights on the front of the tub “randomly” lost two large bolts, were freely bouncing around and broke holes into the tub.
I had moved the washer into my basement myself to avoid the shipping fee, which - they failed to mention - voided full warranty. They would do the repairs for free, but I would have to pay for the new parts.
They offered a replacement, which was nice of them. I paid the shipping fee for them to ship me a replacement with full warranty - a similar black Samsung model. They delivered it in 6 days. Upon delivery, I noticed the same counterweight sitting loosely in the bottom of the washer. They verified this and hauled off both my broken gold washer, and the black replacement one for repair. They stated it’ll only take “a few days” to get one fixed and back to me.
After four weeks of calling them almost daily, they finally delivered the same black machine, claiming they had repaired it and replaced the tub. When I ran it, the spin cycle was still extremely loud - even on low. I took it apart - knowing that it would void my warranty - because I no longer trusted their technicians. I quickly found that the counterweight had a sheared off bolt on the top. The tub was NOT replaced, it was still broken and they attempted but failed to glue a hole in it.
They will not refund me, but said they would replace the washer again with a similar model. They have not reached out to me since, which I’m fine with now that I have done the proper repairs to it.
As with all used appliances there is a gamble on quality and I knew that, so I will give A1 the benefit of the doubt for that. But FOUR weeks to return washer with a terrible repair job? No thanks.
