This company needs to be shut down. Towed me from a game arcade I was at. Was met with hostility over the phone and racism at the business. Owner threatened to call the police and demanded I pay my balance in cash or physical card, this place will be getting disputed with my bank and a lawsuit filed I want this place SHUT DOWN IMMEDIATELY

Before impounding the vehicle it is pictured in a space with a sign that reads "Reserved Parking Only" in it. This sign serves as a notification to the public that the spaces are not meant for general access. Additionally, to the left of this sign another sign states that towing is enforced. With these items considered, it is made abundantly clear that parking there is not prohibited and can result in the vehicle being impounded.

When a vehicle is impounded the fee must be paid in its totality at the time of vehicle release. This nullifies the option for installment based payment as you requested at the time of vehicle release. Our accepted payments methods are cash, ***** and/or Mastercard as you mentioned.

While it is never our desire to involve ********* *********** Police, it was ultimately done as a last resort when working to resolve and deescalate a matter. A total of three staff members and the company owner attempted to facilitate the vehicle release to no avail. When the threat of bodily injury was waged against a team member it left us with no choice but to contact the necessary authorities.

Additionally, SL Recovery employs people of different races/ethnicities and we pride ourselves on being as diverse as the community we reside in. The accusation of racist treatment is not only baseless but false. Both yourself and two team members you worked with that night are of the same race. One of those people being the company owner.

Firstly, please do not reiterate what has already been said. The fee has been paid and I understand it was a Reserved Parking spot. A warning could have been given for the first offense and a $275 fee is ridiculous for the first time and being held for under **************************************************************************************** person. Secondly, bodily harm threat was used when I was cornered by two men while going to my car to make sure it was fine since you all have been known to damage vehicles in your possession. Thirdly, I felt racism from your WHITE MANAGER, and did not feel safe. He immediately resorted to call the police and tried to get me charged for trespassing. That night I saw one team member that was my race which was the tow truck man, the other two being white and Hispanic both cursing me out and having a horrible attitude, the owner was not in sight the night of the incident. I asked to speak to the owner to voice my concerns the next morning but the employee stated he was in a meeting. Finally, I hope in the future you use better customer service and understand and throughly read these reviews as they are a reflection of your poor customer service and shady business. Have a blessed day and I sincerely hope to never encounter this horrible business again.

$10 debit card fee is insane. No where in the states do they charge for a debt card transaction. Wouldnt let me pay cash either. $350 for a tow for parking is unacceptable and needs to be addressed

This one of the worst towing company in *********. They towed my car from my apartment complex due to an error, I told them I would dispute it, not saying with who. I arrive at the place, they told me because I said over the phone I was going to dispute it, that I could only pay in cash. I explained to them, I disputed it with my apartment complex and it was being looked into however, they did not care. They refused to release my car to me unless I paid them in cash. They said it was their policy, I asked to see the policy, ****** the office manager told me that she could write it down, but its a big sign on the wall that states what method of payment they took. ****** was rude and nasty. I asked for the owner infor she refused to give me that, only the owner name ****. This company needs to get out of business ****. They are the worst, they make their own rules. They are very disgusting. My apartment complex ended up fixing the issue as far as a refunded. I wish nothing good for this company.

While we understand that having your vehicle towed is never ideal, our services are nonetheless a contracted obligation by the property management company. As in any service-based industry, the threat of disputing a transaction must be taken seriously. While our services may seem unwarranted to you, we still must uphold our contract, and services must be paid for. Threatening to dispute the transaction in any form jeopardizes our staff's ability to be compensated for the work they do, and this must be taken seriously. SL Recovery is not required to provide company loss prevention policies in writing to its customers. It is only deemed necessary to do so for our staff. Furthermore, while experiencing a difficult situation much ***** was extended to the behavior displayed in our office. However, the courtesy of our patience is nullified once yelling and cursing ensues. On two occasions attempts were made to de-escalate this behavior which ultimately failed and resulted in my mirrored behavior response. We have a no-tolerance policy for this behavior and when this occurs I will not subject myself, staff, or our owner to such behavior.

What a piece of c*** response. SL Recovery needs to be out of business. If I stated my apartment was going to take care of it, which they did, why would I dispute with my bank when my apartment complex gave me my money back. Your staff ****** was RUDE and I gave her back the energy she gave me! She didnt like it, then maybe thats NOT the job for you. I can see why the police is up there, because they way yall be scamming ppl, is out of this world! No one cursed at her, and two occasions attempts? Im a grown woman, you think someone gave me two attempts for anything, PLEASE! Get real and get some real business about yourself! As I STATED, I WISH THIS COMPANY NOTHING GOOD! SL Recovery ***** and is the worst business and I wish these apartments complex would stop doing business with yall!

This place towed my sister car while we was at our business working and which was only there for 1 hour and her car was towed but manger said that they have contract with the building to tow cars left over night. Which my sister car was only there for 1 hour and we was working at our business and our car got towed. The anger and workers was very rude and charged us $374 but said they will take $325 in cash. This place is a rip off and needs to be shut down. This is highway robbery what they are doing. I sat in their parking lot while waiting on my sister car and seen them tow 10 cars included $30 minutes. Please investigate this place and shut them down.

From my own personal experience I understand that having your car towed can be a very frustrating. Although this situation not ideal for you, we are required to enforce the rules put in place by the building management. Simply put, SL Recovery is responsible for doing our job and we must abide by the standards and polices of our contract holders. When paying for your vehicle impound the cash cost was $325 however, when using a **** or Mastercard there is a processing fee. This fee of 3% brings your total to $334.75. This policy is listed on the towing enforcement signs found in the parking lot. While our response doesn't change the circumstances I hope this sincere explanation is well received.

This business is absolutely abysmal. My corporate rental car was towed by this joke of an organization from my apartment building parking garage. I was due to return the rental when I discovered it had been towed, so I called and was told it would be $250 cash to retrieve. With that, I immediately took my personal vehicle to the impound lot, $250 cash in hand, so that I could return the rental in as timely a manner as possible. When I arrived, SL Recovery has a sign that states "customers must park in the grass" outside the gates, so I did just that. When I went inside their decrepit building to pay, I was told that I could NOT leave my personal vehicle parked in the "customer parking area" while I returned the rental vehicle, which would've taken 30-minutes maximum. I am living alone in a new city, so I guess they expected me to drive both cars at the same time. I was then informed that I COULD leave it, but they were "not responsible for any damages to the car," delivered in a tone that undeniably insinuated a direct threat to my personal vehicle. Not willing to risk it, I then had to go home and **** all the way back to this revolting establishment. At this point, the rental car is 2 hours overdue bc of these unreasonable bullies. I went to pay the $250 cash I was instructed on the phone, and was told it was $275. When I informed the cashier that I was told $250, her only response was "I don't know who you spoke to." Maybe you shouldn't have them answer the phone if they're going to provide INCORRECT INFORMATION?! So I had to pay the cash I had, plus an extra $25 + 3% fee. I don't care about the extra money, but I care about the principle that these people think they have the power to shake customers down for additional charges. I was also informed on the phone they do NOT accept ***** which is also not true. The cashier then SHOVED the receipt at me and said, "you're free to go." without any further instruction. AVOID THIS NASTY PLACE AT ALL COSTS.

This company stole my car and I use the term stoled, they are not authorized in the state of NC their motor carrier authority states not authorized and hasn’t been authorized as far back of April 2024 they towed my vehicle and had me pay to get my car out when my car shouldn’t have been towed and any other vehicle. They are watching the high schools kids get out of their cars and stating that they have a contract to do so at the property owner requested but in reality they are not even authorized to operate i have documents. They are running around towing cars illegally. I want my money refunded MC 16924 on the FMCSA safer site

This establishment is unworthy of any stars and should be closed down. They engage in scamming and provide false ticket information to charge for "special equipment." Despite threatening legal action, they are the ones deserving of a lawsuit. It's crucial to be informed, as falsifying information makes a contract invalid. They claimed to use a dolly to move my car, but this is impossible as it was in park and the doors were locked. There is even footage of them towing it away. The entire situation is a scam, and they are attempting to deceive customers. I attempted to professionally resolve the issue with them, but it seemed like they were already aware of their actions and unwilling to listen, as they hung up on me. These businesses should not have contracts with such companies.

When towing vehicles we use an online data base that stores photos of each vehicle. These photos are also geotagged to ensure that we provide adequate proof of the vehicles location. A photo of the vehicle on dolly's (special equipment) was recorded in the vicinity of where the car was found. Based on our photos and location tracking we can validate that the added fee for special equipment is valid. Also, our property is monitored by video surveillance of which also shows the use of special equipment.

This place is TRASH and anyone who has ever left a positive review on them should be ashamed of themselves for spreading lies the owner and employees are money hungry monster's who lack integrity and basic human decency. They've lasted 16 years in business by intimidation because it's surely not by having great customer service or rapport
