This company installed LVP flooring for us, including prep work of the sub floor. There was a bump in the sub floor where an addition to the house was added. The installer assured me the bump would be removed during floor prep; it was not. After expressing my concerns on the bump (two pieces of LVP meeting at the top of the bump and likely separating over time), the installer said I guarantee they wont separate. They did separate. His excuse was that it would have taken too much self-leveling to correct, but at no point did he ask us for more, and 7 full unopened bags of it remained. In a high-traffic area, there was a dip below the end of a piece of flooring. The installer returned to fix it and drilled three excessively large holes into the flooring, inserting black self-leveling compound. The floor is light gray and the large drill holes are obvious, and were not patched or hidden. This repair made the original piece of flooring worse, and each piece of flooring touching it also is now raised/misaligned. The biggest problem is that the installer did not leave an expansion gap around the edge of the flooring, as instructed in manufacturers installation instructions. The floor has now buckled in the kitchen and living room. I have had an insurance adjuster look at the floor and I have documentation that the flooring was incorrectly installed. When calling the company to discuss, the installer was defensive and blamed the problems on the cheap flooring we chose, and on us for lack of floor prep (even though he was responsible for it). The flooring is a reputable brand/was not cheap, and was purchased at a local reputable hardware store. At no point during flooring install did he relay concerns about the subfloor, or product being installed. The installer chose to be defensive versus working out an agreement. This is a very detrimental way to conduct business in a small town.
