TOTAL CONSTRUCTION STAY CLEAR OF THIS DRUKEN FOOL AND HIS ******* ACCOMPLISE( SISTER) !! I just finished the most horrible construction project of my 50 year career doing business in ***********, MT. I was cheated, lied to, and subjected to an almost 1 1/2 year project that I was promised would be completed in 6 months. I had to basically oversee every day of the project. As an example, they submitted a bid to me for $12,000 to replace kitchen cabinets that I thought seemed awfully high, so I went to ********** and priced equivalent cabinets for about $2,500. They have no comprehension of value, or time.Their professional crew consisted of a disgraced former insurance agent, an unemployed restauranteur, an unemployed security guard, and for a while a 90 pound teenager that couldn't even climb a ladder without having to have a coworker hold the ladder, taking 2 people to do the work of 1, and a 70 some yea old grandmother, trying to do a lot of the painting. Absolutely no professional craftsmen of any kind. They were still ordering materials a couple weeks before their completion deadline, knowing that these materials were six weeks out for delivery. Some of the work was acceptable, but a great deal of it needed to be fixed or redone by myself. They agreed to one price, then without even telling me about it, raised the total price by over 10%, then slapped a lien on my property when I objected. The crew would show up and work for a day or so every couple of weeks and make up excuses as to why they weren't there to keep the project going smoothly or making faster progress. These are absolute amateurs passing themselves off as professionals, and charging professional prices. They never did finish the job and this summer after nobody showing up for over ********************************************************************* a few days after it was completed saying that they would be there in a few days to finish the job.

We are completely blown away by this review.

This was a duplex that had fire damage, and was an insurance claim, so nothing was done unless approved by the customer and insurance adjuster.  We had a signed contract with the customer.  The contract price was agreed on by Total Construction, the customer and adjuster.  The price was never raised by 10%.  He asked for things to be completed that were not on the original bid.  We are happy to help, but we cannot do it for free.  Those items were addressed on a change order.  Customers were always made aware of any changes that needed to be made. I have emails for all of these things. As far as the kitchen goes, we got a bid that was $12,000 for custom cabinets.  We all discussed and felt that was a lot for a rental kitchen.  We proceeded to get other bids.  We also discussed the damaged walls and how far they wanted to go with them. Did they want to pay for skim coating and getting them back to new.  He said no way this is a rental.  So, we proceeded with fixing the holes that were bad and taping all new installed drywall.  Once all the walls were painted customer came back in and started spackling again.  We had to then go back and paint again.  This happened on several items (which we never charged for).

Most of all it's sad to see such derogatory and unfounded personal attacks towards others. We have a highly qualified contractor that once was an insurance agent, a nurse, and a Veteran. Staffing is a huge problem with every business currently and has been for a few years now. I would like to think it's a positive that we have a family business where even said "70(AND FABULOUS**) something grandma", was there to help when we lost a laborer. We have a very successful business man whom works for us to have something physical to do. We have a wonderful woman whom wears many hats to keep us running as smoothly as possible in a very difficult industry. So with that said we hate to see such a hateful review/attack, but are very confident in knowing the truth and supporting our folks here.

Best of luck **** in all your future endeavors!
