Would not recommend this company. Will not stand behind their work. Read the other reviews, I experienced some of the same issues.

I feel Roto-Rooter in Springfield ******** deliberately took advantage of my situation and my business when overcharging for sewer work. My business had a blockage in the sewer pipe going from the toilets to the septic tank. I spoke to the staff at Roto-Rooter, who recorded that I agreed to the work that they were proposing to do and their price. They made it sound like the job would require permits, contacting various agencies regarding possible impediments to their digging such as underground lines, etc, as well as extensive digging time.. However, I had no idea that other companies would charge a fraction of that charged by Roto-Rooter with the same outcome. Over $600 for video locating services (I later found out from a subsequent septic service that the other company would have charged a third of that amount). In all, Roto-Rooter charged $4500 to dig a hole about 3 feet deep and 10 feet long to replace a piece of metal pipe with a piece of PVC pipe running from the toilets to the septic tank. The other company that assisted my business with another septic need later confirmed that their company would have charged about $1500 for the same work. When I pointed out to the Roto-Rooter staff that the amount they charged left me feeling that they had taken advantage of my situation, they were quick to point out multiple times that I had agreed to it verbally, and recorded me agreeing, and that they had done what they said they would do. This is true, but I have always tried to make things right when a customer has a concern. The *************************** staff just repeated that I had agreed to the work and the price, with no regard for whether this caused me and my business financial hardship or whether the price for such minimal work was fair. My reason for bringing this to the attention of the Better Business Bureau is to help others avoid being taken advantage of by the Roto-Rooter staff and mistakenly believing that Roto-Rooter would treat them fairly.

My appointment was from 3:00 to 5:00 pm on October17th. I wanted them to replace two outside faucets and flush a hot water heater. They showed up then had to leave because they didn't have the proper tools for cooper piping. Said, "they had to get to the store before they closed at 5:00 pm." They came back changed the faucet in the back yard that wasn't leaking, but I wanted it replaced along with the on on the side of the house. They flushed the hot water heater. Charged me $500.00. The whole bill was going to be like $875.00 Said, "the other leak they would have to go through the floor or the wall." I told them, "to go through the wall." It was late we had to get up early so we rescheduled the wall deal and the other outside faucet for Tuesday October 18th. same time. They showed up at 6:00 pm. I said, "Do you care if we we reschedule due to the time? They said, "No." So they were to come back on Thursday the 20th same time 3:00 to 5:00. They were a no call, no show. Then they called the 20th wanting to finish up the work this was a Friday. I fired them, told them I hired a competitor of theirs. Then Sunday the 23rd of October I noticed the back faucets foundation was wet. So when I had another plumbing company come out and check it out they said it was spraying water from a pin hole. They wanted to know when it had been replaced and by who. I told him almost 2 weeks ago by Roto-Rooter. He said, "I would call them and ask for some of my money back." He then asked if I want him to replace it or call them back out. I told him, "to replace it and that I wouldn't trust Roto-Rooter. Roto-Rooter was not professional or trust worthy. I finally had to called them November 4th to ask for the receipt of the work they had done and to see if they would take back their faucet and refund my money just for their faucet.. Still waiting for a call back.
