This company allowed a person unknown to the person responsible for making and paying for cremation arrangements to call in and alter a death announcement summarily without checking with me. When questioned, I was told by ****** I’m general we just do these type of things. I am considering legal action. This is very insulting and breach of trust in my judgement.

Yes, in general is someone calls to make a change to the obituary we tend to trust that the person is doing so in the best interest of the family. If we're just adding a name or a picture I don't see the harm. Also, anything can be undone. I was trying to ask ************** what he would like to change from an obituary that was 7 years old but he was too frustrated with me to tell me what to change. He threatened to contact a lawyer but still wouldn't tell me what to change. I tried to find out who made the changes but our notes from that long ago were not as good as they are today. When he threatened to contact an attorney for the second time I informed him that I would need to end this call and he agreed and hung up. I have disabled the obituary for now until he informs me what to do. I have made notes in the file about this so someone doesn't call back and try to make other changes. However, I wonder how I am supposed to insure that the person calling is indeed **************? How do I even know ************** was the one calling. An obituary is not a legal document that has to be verified for its validity.
