I have been a loyal Hyundai driver since 2007 and also owned a 2013 and 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe. In 2019 at approximately 70-75,000 miles, I started having oil consumption problems. I took it to Northtown Hyundai for a documented consumption test and was told that the car had failed. They replaced the engine under that warranty. I have diligently completed the oil change and maintenance since owning the car. After what would be approximately 70-75,000 miles on that replacement engine, I started having oil consumption issues again. I have consistently been seeing a quart low anywhere from 5 or 600 miles to 7 or 800 miles, but well below what Hyundai considers the expected consumption to be acceptable, which is 1 quart per 1000 miles. I had called to inquire about the fact that this is the 2nd engine to have this exact problem in a 6 year old car and was told that the replacement engine had 12 months or 12,000 mile warranty and since mine is outside of that, they offered no solution. I took the car into Northtowne in January and in 715 miles needed a quart, then I drove to OK and back during a really frigid cold snap and the 2nd check was 1200 for a quart. Northtowne considers this a pass on oil consumption even though the first check was clearly a fail. I tried reaching out to the corporate office and have been patronized and condesended to because the replacement engine is out of warranty. The only suggestion that Northtowne has suggested was a "top down cleaning" that would cost me another $400, or I could put SeaFoam in my oil myself. I am aware that I am not the only customer to have this issue. Hyundai clearly replaced the engine with another one knowing it had the same issue and knew that the warranty would expire before the new engine would exhibit the issue. They would prefer that I have to buy another car only 6 years later (due to poor quality). I will be looking for a class action as remedy and encourage anyone with the same issue to please reach out asap.

Will never bring a car here for service again. Terrible vustomer service. Dropped off my car for a scheduled appointment. 7 hours later still no word. When i tried to call i was transferred around, hung up on and finally asked for a manager or i would come in person so someone would speak to me.

Well, no manager, so i went in person, quite angry. Was told to leave of they would call the cops because i was angry? They had my CAR! All i wanted was an update. Im a paying customer. I deserve at least 30 seconds to be told it isnt ready yet. Especially since it wasnt going to be ready till the next day. Thats kind of important to know.

Yes I was mad, does not excuse their behavior to a customer. An upset customer who tried multiple times to not let it get there. Treat people poorly then act confused and offended when they are upset.

Beware when dealing with them. Northtowne Hyundai does not care about the customers.

Side note, no i never had anyone apologize, only excuses and being told I am out of line for being upset.
